Re: Football

I'm sorry but to suggest that someone on even £20k a week (and let's face it, that's no premier League players) couldn't take a 20% cut in their wages is nonsense, whatever else they do with their money. Can you even conceive of a way you couldn't live on an income of £16k a week? And yes, I know t...

Re: Football

It's not greed, it's looking after yourself. Everyone's entitled to do it. And who knows what the players do with their money? On the other hand, don't for one minute think clubs are swimming in money. The players may only have a few more big pay packets to capitalise on: https://www.dailymail.co.uk...

Re: Aircraft storage question.

Aircraft can be parked up for up to a week with no issues. Some of the aircraft you see parked up will be rotated with ones that are still flying so they are not stored for too long at one time. Short-term storage will involve starting the engines, running the air con packs and other systems, jacki...

Re: No Time To Die (James Bond trailer released)

Agreed. Bourne and the Mission Impossible films have made them irrelevant, and they're weighed down by their own history. Spectre was unbelievably bad. Unfortunately a lot of people don't want them to move forward, and constantly compare them to whatever their 'golden age' was. The only ones I rewat...

Re: Future of Airshows in the EV World

Biggest problem with charging points is for people in shared/terraced housing, apartment blocks etc. When I was in the UK I would have been the ideal candidate for an electric car, with a commute of about 7 miles and living a couple of miles from the city centre, but why would I pay upwards of 25 gr...

Tailfin was set to be roaded back to RAF Marham for mounting outside a 2Sqn facility? Anybody know more about what really happened? :dunno:

It definitely went to 2 Sqn's HAS site at Lossiemouth, no idea if its still there.

Just finished watching the third and final season of The Deuce on Sky Atlantic. Really well made television

I wanted to make sure they finished it before I started watching. Unbelievably it looks like Mindhunter won't be coming back. Gutted about that.

Nope, it just means you can't say what you want on a private forum used by a tiny percentage of the population. Feel free to debate anywhere else. I see Iain's point but with the lack of activity elsewhere Off Topic has probably been keeping the site busy.

Re: What are UKARians watching on TV?

They've been very clever in bringing elements of the 2nd book straight in to this series in Episode 2. Makes sense to have Will and Lyra's stories in parallel. And the opening scene from Episode 1 is from the prequel Book of Dust! There are some complex themes but I think it'll be worth sticking wit...

That's what Spotify does, it recommends stuff you might like and you end up discovering loads of new music. I've also listened to plenty of 70s prog rock!

Bloomin heck the new Tool album is out at last - Fear Inoculum
and bloody brilliant it is too.

The new Michael Kiwanuka album - KIWANUKA - is my favourite of the year so far.
