Re: The Victory Show, 2019 Edition.

Thanks very much! That Spitfire take-off I just shunted the shutter speed down to 1/20 or something. It's the normal flypast's I can't figure out on the props; it always seems to look like there's little movement in the aircraft; just more trial & error required I guess!

The Victory Show, 2019 Edition.

Well that's another cracking weekend at the Victory Show over for another year. Personally it's one of my favourite events to visit, not just for the aviation side of things but the whole event itself; lots to see and lots of knowledgable folks to talk to about the various things - always some new (...

Re: Victory Show, Cosby 2019

Today's flying display had a similar amount to last years show - just missing a few of the group flypasts (Buchon + US fighters etc) & Sally-B etc - and although not quite as good as last years, it was still good. Also remember that today's show had a couple of displays from aircraft not at the ...

Re: Victory Show, Cosby 2019

Good day today! Shame we didn't get the Lancaster but the rest of the display was still enjoyable! These two shots where taken at the non-battle end of the runway, so if anybody's going tomorrow they might get a little idea of what it's like. Nothing special mind, just little examples. Taken with a ...

Re: The Cosby Victory Show 2018.

Clear blue skies for both days, though a few clouds wouldn't have gone amiss! It's been a few years since I've managed to get to the show but the re-enactment was good and there's tons of ground vehicles to have a look around. If you're just interested in the aviation side then I dare say a 'proper'...

Thanks! Sunday for these ones. Saturday was basically the same though, just without Sally-B.

The Cosby Victory Show 2018.

Finally managed to make it back to the Cosby Victory Show; a fantastic weekend of WWII re-enactments and a cracking little airshow to boot. The photos aren't the best but as nobody else has posted any and a few people where asking about how the display line was this year, I figured I'd post a few. C...

Re: Victory Show 2018

OK. 90 minutes flying probably decides that I'll stick with what I know at Shuttleworth. Shame it's not a bit closer and doesn't clash. Thanks for the help. No worries. There's also the Dakota doing the WW2 style parachute drops just before the main battle re-enactment starts, but yeah, the main ai...

Re: Victory Show 2018

Would 300mm on a crop body suffice? Really unsure what to do tomorrow. There's a good four or five warbirds that I've not yet seen/seen since their repaints, but it's almost twice as far as Shuttleworth. Flying display is almost an hour and a half, though tomorrow you've got Sally B involved too so...

Lovely shots - first one in particular. The Gazelle is one of those helicopters that no matter how many times you see them it still looks stunning!

Re: Cavok Air AN-12 over Southampton

It's mainly from East Midlands. I'm not far from the airfield and everytime it passes over here at about 5000ft or so no matter how low the clouds are or whether it's pitch black you can tell it's the Antonov. The noise and the fact it vibrates the windows give it away! Makes for a lovely sight thou...

Nice. Richard Bacon? Kevin Bacon? It says Initially so I'm thinking that means the initals of this person. Sporting? Is there a sporting person with surname Bacon? Going by Wiki there was an Everett Bacon who played Quarterback in College Football. Adds up to the bacon, sporting chance and back. Al...

F-15; not only did it look fantastic with the twin engine & tails combo, but I also grew up watching the Transformers cartoon series and my favourite characters where Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker who turned into the plane! Loved it ever since!

Way too many idiots about these days. I've been to countless motorsport events where a specific car/driver isn't there to see, and whilst it's disappointing you just take it in your stride and enjoy the other things there.

Re: The naughty field debate...a new twist

At the end of the day it's up to the individual and it should all be at their own risk, but you just know at some point there's going to be somebody getting injured - maybe not from the plane itself - but from diving out of the way or tripping over or something. They'll end up suing somebody or ther...

2 x C130 near Leicester

Just had two low-flying C-130's near Leicester Forest East, banking eastwards towards Leicester itself. A very welcome sight to see!
