Re: Nikon Z5 Z6

Preferably for Aviation. Although I'm doing more wildlife at the moment. Apologies for the long delay in replying - I've had my Z6 since November, my first full frame and I'm still getting to grips with it. Also bought the lens adaptor but I havent ventured out with that yet, though I will do soon....

Re: BA retires entire Boeing 747 fleet

So glad we got to fly back from JFK last year on one, always found them far more comfortable than 777's and Dreamliners. Would love to see at least one of the Heritage jets retired to a museum somewhere, though quite which one would depend on there being sufficient space and a decent airfield to ret...

Arizona - March 2020

It's probably going to be my last trip to the States for some time, but back In March I took myself off to try and catch the El Centro and Yuma shows, and some local action. Needless to say the shows were cancelled and the trip curtiled, but spent a couple of days at Yuma and Davis Monthan, with som...

Re: Cool Moves

Sometime in the early 1970's - sat on the North York Moors, I was about 6 or 7. We'd stopped for a picnic in a layby when 3 Vulcans screamed overhead, very low and very loud. Hooked! makes perfect sense - the RAF used to have low level routes at the time. One ran down from the Leeming gap - North Y...

Saw this on take off from Pisa airport last year and didn't realise you could see it from the road. ZH005

ZH005 Islander of the Army Air Corps seems to be on a jaunt across England, took off from Aldergrove, just over the top of us in North Kent.

Re: US trip costs

One of the benefits of being a Three customer is being able to use your internet allowance abroad, so no issues with using Waze or Google Maps (unless you are in Hicksville Pop. 21).

Luckily the last three cars I've hired out there all came with Android Auto.

Some interesting relics, that Ames C130 is an unusual bird. Is it slated for preservation or breaking?? Sorry to hear your trip got cut short, such strange times. It's probably slated for breaking eventually. Thought I'd pop this one up too. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49734528628_025c21833...

@Zoom - I had an email from Easyjet saying that they had cancelled and were issuing a refund to us but it would take up to 6 weeks, the email ended up in Spam ( I have issues with Sky and using Thunderbird). I already started a section 27 complaint with my bank as I paid for it with my credit card. ...

To be fair to @Ianpeden there are a lot of scam messages out there at the moment, probably best to always have a check of Snopes.com:

Comes in handy dealing with some of the people who inhabit Facebook and cut and paste everything...........(you know what I mean)

Re: Will air shows be cancelled because of coronavirus

What I don’t understand is why there’s such a panic to buy toilets rolls when so many copies of the Daily Mail are left unsold in newsagents. Sadly I'm old enough to remember my grandparents small terraced house in Plumstead (that's London for those that don't know) with an outside WC with cut up p...

Arizona relics

Spent a few days in Arizona, had planned to go to Yuma and El Centro for the shows then have a few days at the fence in Tuscon. Well that went well! Flew back early as the BA flight from Phoenix was cancelled but one of the highlights, well the absolute highlight, was a trip to a private Boneyard. T...

There are still flights to and from USA but they are only flying to certain airports, from what I saw at T5 yesterday these are LA, NY, Seattle. I came back in from Phoenix, my flight home on Thursday coming was cancelled so I had to change flights. The crew that went out on the flight also came hom...
