Abingdon 2016

This was my first airshow with my new Sigma 150-600mm lens. Have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with it. Here's a few from the day.. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w30/NDarby1/1D3A8046_zpseorx2whh.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w30/NDarby1/1D3A8180_zpsjucwasak.jpg http://i172.photobu...

Re: American Air Show 28-29 May

I was just wondering, with the new caa regs, if Duxford cannot stop people gathering in the naughty field/grange road, will they fall foul of the required safety requirements thus airshows no longer being viable? I'm not altogether sure of the new regs, but it was a thought that crossed my mind.

Nellie in the Confines

A recent visit to Salisbury Plain yielded a very welcomed visitor. Chinook ZA683 'Nellie' made a quick visit to the confines on Salisbury Plain. I only had roughly a minute after a quick sprint to catch her so not ideally the pictures i'd have liked. Nature of the game!!! http://i172.photobucket.com...

Apache

Late on in the afternoon whilst on Salisbury Plain, caught my first Apache. Unfortunately it was my first time out with my new Sigma 150-600mm lens and I have since realised how 'long' the short end is!! http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w30/NDarby1/1D3A5763copy_zpschmk6kbv.jpg Neil

Salisbury Plain

Hi guys, Here's a few images from Feb 29th's visit to the plain. A really excellent day. It was great to see the Historic aircraft flight's (Army) Scout on the Plain too!! Another great catch was the Bell 212 in the confines... http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w30/NDarby1/IMG_1806_zps8cn0t2my.jpg ...

Northolt Nightshoot

Another excellent evening produced by the team. I thought the Hawk was an excellent choice. Here's a couple from me.. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w30/NDarby1/1D3A3030_zpskw9btxif.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w30/NDarby1/1D3A3040_zpsck082xmj.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w30...

Hurricane R4118

Hi guys, just a few images of Peter Vacher's Hurricane from last week. I was very privileged to be allowed a good look round her due to a friend on the ground crew. What a stunning aircraft... http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w30/NDarby1/IMG_8245_zpstlzwcf7h.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/...

Northolt's Apache

Hi Guys, A big well done to Phil and the team again. A bit unfortunate that the weather prevented Hawk T.2 ZK020 but it was great to see 030 instead. Best surprise of the evening was the Apache though. That and the Bronco ground run was awesome. Just one from me. Its not a HDR shot, just mono conver...

Re: The Cirencester Fairy Gannet

XA459?? If so I believe shes gone to White Waltham to die. She's between the black hangar and grain store. I spoke to a few locals who had been refused their help to restore her to static condition. Such a shame considering Walthams Fairey heritage..

Re: Recommend a scanner

The stock antenna is fine for airshows but you may want something better if you want more range. As I say, I was recommended the nagoya and that is brilliant for the money. I got mine from the same guy on ebay. It arrived very quickly.

Re: Recommend a scanner

I can +1 for the ubc125xlt. I got one 2 weeks back and its awesome. I bought the software too and its so easy to put on the frequencies you want plus add text to it aswell. I have just added a nagoya antenna too and that has given me much more range. I had an alinco dj-x3 before this and that was no...

Just watching the Battle of Britain on channel 5 and wondering if there are any Heinkel 111 or Casa equivalents flying in Europe?
