Re: Yeovilton 2015 (Participation Thread)
Just got back to Yeovil from the naughty side. Bought my discounted tickets from work months ago but decided to stay outside and go far south east end upon seeing the forecast yesterday. Doubly glad I did, as for a large part of the flying, the cloud was over and the light was a bit grim. Shooting s...

AW609 Has just arrived at Westlands if anyone is interested,
did about 4 circuits and two touchdowns.
Looks very smart and is suprisingly quiet!

Re: Yeovilton Friday Arrivals
Sorry, but VLAD gets a thumbs up from me. If you want to watch the show that the organisers have worked hard to put on, buy a ticket and accept their terms. If you don't like the organisation, where the sun sits in the firmament or their toilet facilities, don't buy a ticket and stay away. And to b...

Re: Yeovilton Friday Arrivals
Was in Pyle lane on Friday and Saturday last year. Parked at the weir in the village, as long as you don't block the road, don't park in the police coned off areas or actually down the lane you are ok. Basically there is not much space. enough for maybe 7-8 cars. From the weir its about 5 min trudge...

I saw it had two blobs under the wings from about 2 miles away.
I saw it for less than 15 seconds in 3 snippets between houses. I had no camera or binos.
I did the best I could!

Re: F/A-18 Yeovil
I've seen the pics of it having now landed and those missiles are rather large so at that distance they probably looked like tanks to me.

F/A-18 Yeovil
An F/A-18 of some kind was just (in last 10 mins) flying just north west (1-2 miles circling) of Yeovil,
2 drop tanks, too far away for me too see any markings
Anyone got anymore info? Swiss or Boeing Demonstrator?

If its there fine.... If not dont get too downhearted, its hardly the case that you'll never see it again is it. It'll be at air tatoos for the next 30 years! I thought that about the Nimrod MRA4! D'oh! Touche! Good Sir; Though in this case I think its a question of too big to be allowed to fail, w...

Re: World Cup 2014
Usual tired clichés about footballers. Appearance fees for their country are a drop in the ocean compared to what they get paid by their clubs in a day. None of them get rich playing for their country, and if they are "playing for cash, not the shirt", then they'll still be playing to win...

I'm what could be called a layman who has a passing interent in F1 and would always have a look to see whats happening in the 'sport'. I'm an engineer by trade so certainly appreciate whats going on. The cars are fantastic peices of kit. But as a televised sporting spectacle this years' season has b...

Re: A Genuine Question
As someone who would always want to come to the show for 1 day but has neither the time nor the money to spend the whole week there. The removal of the option for an 'either day' advance ticket is a very bad change . I only ever decide to go to an airshow in the week before...based on the final line...

Was there myself on business last week, did a big double take when emerging from my hotel and that was in front of me!
I had seen a US carrier in port, Norfolk Yard I think...but never one with aircraft on before.
Was most interesting sight! Thanks for the record!

Brilliant shots,
However I would expect nothing less.
As others have said, the flare Mk.4 is wonderful.
