Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXIX Thursday 5th October 2023

Whilst I'd agree that the London Air Ambulance pairing were more or less on the traditional line, they are also considerably smaller than a Typhoon. I feel the line-up shot in this photo-thread (image 4) illustrates my point that the line-up from Air Ambulances to Typhoon got ever closer to the hang...

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXIX Thursday 5th October 2023

Another Northolt I came away from happy with the images taken, although I was rather apprehensive how it would all pan out seeing the new layout upon arrival. Whilst across the whole I think it worked I feel as though a few changes could be made if this is to be the adopted new layout. The line in f...

The aircraft departed Southampton and went to Goodwood ahead of the water landing at St Mawes. The aircraft returned to Goodwood and ultimately ended back at Southampton, arriving at 1815L on Saturday evening.

Air Shows 2024

Unexpected wholesale changes announced to what had become the standard air-show calendar format at Old Warden of a day and then evening show through the summer. Gone seem to be the majority of the evening airshow events, personally from a photography perspective this will be a major loss to the UK a...

Shuttleworth's Family Airshow

Another Sunday and another airshow at Old Warden. The show catered for it's audience with a lot of family entertainment acts but on the back of decent forecast and the chance to see the Miles Hawk Speed Six alongside the collection\s other 2 air racers I headed along to Old Warden. Therefore it was ...

June Airshow Catch-Up - Fly Navy, Weston & Headcorn

With the showpiece shows of the UK airshow season notably Yeovilton and RIAT around the corner, I am taking the time to focus on the excellent start we've had to the airshow season through the sunshine in June. First up Old Warden and the 3rd rendition of the Fly Navy theme, despite notable cancella...

Shuttleworth May Evening Show

This was a stunning show in all aspects and well covered already across the forum. Beautifull flying conditions and some stunning flying made up for missing the Season Premiere 2 weeks prior. The BBMF Lancaster performing exquisitely and AR501 made an impressive return. On with the images (in order ...

Re: Aero Legends Battle of Britain Show - Headcorn

Headcorn has the potential for some excellent photo opportunities if you a photographer, the sun is behind you all day and the background is uncluttered. There will be plenty of chance to see the warbirds that are present in the air with many going out throughout the day on local flights. The curre...

Re: Aero Legends Battle of Britain Show - Headcorn

Hi folks just joined and visiting the UK from Oz this June/July, have a ticket for the Saturday 30/6/18 show trying to work out when the flying actually happens? Am I correct in saying the displays are from 2 to 5pm only? Bit of a bucket list trip and have limited time and a non aeroplane wife so w...

Frisian Flag 2018

Once again Leeuwarden AB in the Netherlands hosted the annual Frisian Flag exercise. The 2018 edition saw upwards of 60 aircraft in attendance at Leeuwarden from Spain, Poland, France, USA, UK, Germany and of course the hosts the Royal Netherlands Air Force. Air Discovery also flew their A-4 Skyhawk...

GK Open Days - Spotters-day

Geilenkirchen, home to NATO's AWACS fleet held a open day and spotters day in conjunction with the 35th year of NATO AWACS operations from GK. The participation list chopped and changed all the way up to the event and even though stand out items such as the Turkish E-7, Italian ATL2 and French E-3F ...

Re: International Sanicole Airshow: 9 & 11 September 2016

Anyone know if there will be a Spotter's Day type-thing at KB on the Saturday, as per last year? That could be the deciding factor in whether or not I bother going. I don't see why not - it's been part of the Sanicole weekend for some years.. Unfortunately speaking to friends in Belgium who have go...

Slow Salisbury Plain - 11/02/16

Spent a few hours on Salisbury Plain, courtesy of lift from Duncan. Arrived on the plain at around 10 leaving around 2 as the cloud rolled in. Was a slow day which wasn't looking very promising with a Bell 212 and Apache coming close as well as watching a Navy commando Merlin carry out confined land...

Salisbury Plain - 28/01/16

I headed to Salisbury plain courtesy of Duncan and Gary, thanks for the lift and company chaps. Within minutes of arriving the distant drone of a helicopter could be he...

Re: Sanicole International Airshow (Belgium)

The MiG cancelled on Friday morning although I didn't hear a reason. The Rafales arrived back at KB this morning and I've seen a few pictures of it displaying at Sanicole. Thoroughly enjoyed Friday outside the fence and the sunset show, of what I stayed for, 36 hours awake kicked in and so my Dad an...

Re: RIAT 2015 - The Feedback

Other than that , the showground layout is pretty sorted. Agree almost entirely with this, however I still disagree with the removal of the western loop for static aircraft and using it as the green entrance to the site. How much better would the star static items, such as the A-10's, SU-22 and SF-...

Thank you for the comment. It was just my dad, brother and myself present as photographers, and there was the occasional walker or runner who would stop and sit at the bench provided at the lookout, but aside from that it was just us! Imagine if Heathrow had such a location :hide:
