RAF Lossiemouth 6/12/17

Hi all, Long time, very long time since I have posted on here, FB is a lot easier these days! However, I have got to grips with Flickr again after a long absence and thought I would share these from my trip to Lossie on Wednesday. I hadn't planned on the Swiss departing early and had hoped to captur...

It's 19 and 43.

And how may I ask do you know this? Or are you just assuming that Gills FB post is indeed fact rather than a wish?

Re: VMFA-232 in Afghanistan 2010-Large Thread(20 Images)

Was out there in 2009 myself, and ruing the decision not to take a good camera and go photographing... What sort of restrictions would there have been if you had 'gone photographing', must have been some? Not sure about 2009, but in 2010 the restrictions were very tight and enforced quite rigidly, ...

VMFA-232 in Afghanistan 2010-Large Thread(20 Images)

Hi all, Whilst I served in Afghanistan in 2010, VFMA-232 were the resident USMC squadron at Kandahar. I spent some time capturing images of them and thought that I would post these images in tribute to Major Taj Sareen who deployed with them. 5 years later I found myself at Lossiemouth this morning ...

Re: Old Sarum Airshow- 12th & 13th September

It's a bit of a joke actually!! Gates didn't open until 0930, there was no checking of ticket or confirmation to get into the car park and none on entry to the airfield! There is a Tutor on static airside and a couple of GA aircraft down the far end. Entry to the Boscombe Collection is very busy and...

Gates to the airfield not opening until 0930!! Parking is in a field on the Salisbury side before the airfield entrance, follow the Orange OSA signs! Queue to get in is currently about 150m long. You just have to show your confirmation email or reference number if you do not have a paper ticket. A bi...

Hi all, I have purchased a ticket for this event tomorrow and it states that I have to collect from the Box Office at the event. Does anyone have an idea where this will be and if I will be able to get into the car park prior to getting the ticket? I have a confirmation email that I will have on my ...

Re: Amazing F-15 pass through the Bwlch

To be honest they're soft shots of an F-15 with a dodgy colour cast, it just happens to have fire coming out of it's bottom. No jealousy here I'm afraid. Considering this thread John: http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=19732 and the fact that the lad is only 17 and using amateur equipment...

Re: Amazing F-15 pass through the Bwlch

Reheat is used more often than many people realise, including the so called professional low level guys. The use of reheat is NOT going to get any pilot into trouble and unless it is used to promote supersonic flight, the noise signature of a small amount of reheat is no more than a prolonged high s...

Craig, if you are reading this, ignore the smart remarks from those that are just prima donna's who think they own the rights of everything that is low level! If you are ever in Northern Scotland drop me a line and I will be happy to take you to some great low level spots that are more or less unkno...

Surprise,Surprise! A Photo report from RAF Lossiemouth!

Hi all, I had a flying visit to RAF Lossie on Tuesday for a meeting and was lucky enough to catch some late afternoon flying. The Cranwell Kingair had brought a 2* up from Northolt for a funeral and currently,6 Tucanos's of 72(R)Sqn from Linton are on detachment. A couple of XV Tornado's and a sorti...

Re: The naughty field debate...a new twist

The pilot may have been low for a very good reason, he may have had a problem, it could have been any number of factors. If you are clapping on behalf of the poor airmanship argument then the poor decisions by the people that decided to ignore the signs and sit, stand etc in the undershoot deserves ...

Re: The naughty field debate...a new twist

Perhaps they will copy Yeovilton and bring in a temporary order. It would be difficult to ban vehicular traffic at Waddington but I have a feeling they could ban pedestrians under such an order. Vehicular traffic is not the issue at Waddo, Pete, the traffic lights ensure that vehicles do not pass w...

Re: The naughty field debate...a new twist

Police can't tell, can only advise. It does show poor airmanship though on behalf of the pilot. He need not have been that low on the approach. This particular game of chicken took 2 sides to tango. The pilot may have been low for a very good reason, he may have had a problem, it could have been an...

Hi Andy, Just seen this thread as a direction from a link on another post. You most definately have an eye for an image and for a first attempt at an airshow these are above average. However, if I may be so bold your processing needs some tweaking to get the best out of the shots, quite a few are ei...

I hope it works, some of the recent losses especially have been to the detriment of the site regardless of the 'politics' involved. I do feel that recently the 'off-topic' postings have been far more subscribed to than the posts involving imagery.
