Re: 'Just Jane' needs spare parts
Am I the only one wondering if Just Jane could operate in conjunction with the BBMF covering more lengthy servicing or tech problems or just show sharing, its local to the BBMF and imagine, at least initially, pilots might be (current?/recently former) bbmf pilots. Just a thought.

Often quoted 96% of airshow goers are not enthusiasts, so what draws in Joe Public more. The Red Star Rebels display team or The Czech built training aircraft from the 60s display team Joe Public can enjoy what they will probably call the Mig display team and we can enjoy a new team, flying an inter...

Thread title "1 squadron standing up". Original poster has stated this was incorrect and is not the case. Thread locked? Stops the nasty after posts!

Wow sounds like someone used some common sense, will be great to have 1 squadron back. Am looking forward to seeing the scheme. Certainly better than it being dormant for 5-10 years. Welcome back one!

Re: Southend Airport TV Star!
Any body watch Eddie Stobart: Trucks and Trailers on Friday, if so can they explain the whole passenger offload situation. Basically an airline sent a smaller aircraft than expected, it was a 48 seater and 49 booked on board. The person they were going too off load was one women of a party of two (p...

Re: Red Arrows to fly with 7 aircraft for 2012
Redsfan most of the reds formations run done a central line of symetry, so as the release said, most formation would look wierd with just one missing. I think the mod and red sites wont post on their sites as its a weekend, the last time I checked the Reds site there hadnt been any updates for a cou...

Re: Falklands
Wise words once again from pbeardmore. I agree that if the people on the Falklands want to remain British that we must help defend/protect them. But on the flip side how woulds us Brits react to the Isle of Wight being run by the Argentinians with there own military based on there. Its a tricky situ...

Re: A380 Wing Cracks
If the problem has been "quantified and dealt with" surely its a "non-story", like this morning I was hungry so I had breakfast or my car needed oil so I put oil in, the Airbus had/has a problem but its ok, seems to be the general feeling. But if everyone is OK with reporting I s...

Re: A380 Wing Cracks
Well thats great that it recieved coverage, but as you posted a hint of bad news gets as much coverage. Its sad that we need to report on something that, as far as I am aware, is far from life threatening to the aircraft. Whenever they fly over here I cannot fail to be impressed, its an amazing worl...

Re: A380 Wing Cracks
Maybe its being covered by the media because its a negative story and the media like to keep people down, dont watch news just too depressing. Let me guess first flight of A380 or first revenue flight little or no coverage, first sight of problem, lots of "experts" and airtime. There is a ...

Re: 2012's Show???
Tricky one for the organisers we now know that they have a least invited everyone which is great. On the flip side we now have a list to tick off as they decline. Used to enjoy arriving at Finningley airdays not knowing what to expect as was rarely dissapointed.

Sounds a great idea for like minded aviation enthusiasts to learn skills with an exciting end product, cannot really see a negative to this. Surely anyone talking about or doing anything aviation related is great, just hope that youngsters get involved too. Last line of BBC report was a quote "...

Space Shuttle, many of the inovations developed for the aircraft are day to day items for us now and many of it payloads directly effect us everyday not to mention the aircraft itself (a reusable spacecraft). Granted the price per aircraft and mission was ridiculous so expensive that even America co...

All Typhoons (so far) delivered through coningsby. Six squadron seem to visit quite often too. Chinooks often stop at Coningsby (usually at lunch time) when operating on the ranges in the Wash.

Just to add another branch to what is already a rather confused thread, wasnt it mentioned in the SDR when talking about the Sentinal that by the 2015 date part of its role would be done by UAV/UAS/drones. Maybe wrong but I am sure it was mentioned.

Re: MK1 spitfire
Sorry to jump on thread a little, but apart from the obvious (no WW2 history/heritage), why are there no flying F22/F24 Spitfires, agree seeing some Mk1s flying is mouth watering but a Mk1 and 24 flying together would be cracking.
