Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I have absolutely no sympathy for students. This is about you leaving home and learning to look after yourself, and here is a major life lesson for you all. Life isn't one big party, it has the habit of turning on you and sticking the boot in. Learn to live with it, it makes the good times all the ...

If they are confined to their halls of residence, they pose no risk to any but themselves. If you send them home you risk spreading it amongst 1700 families.
I should have said, after the isolation period.

From Monday (28th Sep) you face up to a £10k fine if you do not self-isolate if either you have a positive test or you are instructed to self isolate by T&T - it doesn't matter if T&T contact you by phone, email, text or through the app. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-h...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

or is it in this country far too many people are going for tests when they shouldn't be and overwhelming the system? On a local FB page they were discussing going for tests for holiday travel, as I believe you need some proof that you are covid free to travel. So yes people are clogging up the syst...

Re: The UKAR politics thread

In my opinion we should never have allowed the border to be between mainland UK and N.I. It should have been forced on the EU to make the border. The EU were the one's saying that there couldn't be a border between the 2 Irelands, well that wasn't our problem, we could have still let goods through a...

Thanks Brian, but I don't really fancy changing all my lenses again. I'm wondering if it's worth going mirrorless with Nikon or holding off another year or so.

Nikon Z5 Z6

Has anyone had any experience of using one of these mirrorless cameras from Nikon. I've been looking at them but I'm a little unsure if they are better than my 7200.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Indeed. I can get the logic, but the execution seems a bit pish. The point of lockdown, and the economic devastation it has wrought, was twofold. To stop the NHS from being overwhelmed, which succeeded, and to set up an adequate testing and tracing programme, which has failed. We can’t keep going t...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.

Just curious, and I must be missing something somewhere, but, how will todays new ruling regarding NMT 6 in a group instead of up to 30 affect Duxfords (IWM) decision to go ahead (or not) when they were going ahead anyway when the ruling was with 30...In the grand scheme of things how is 13,970 peo...

From BBC Web As the government tightens restrictions on social gatherings in England form Monday, more than 2,500 spectators are expected at Doncaster racecourse later. The crowd at the first day of the four-day St Leger meeting will be the first at a British horse racing fixture in six months. Rac...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.

Hoping someone can answer this. As I live in Manchester and we are under local lockdown rules would I be able to go, and or would the IWM even sell me a ticket. No I have no intention of going, I took that decision way back that I wouldn't attend any shows this year. It's just that I'm curious to ho...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

So this came into force for parts of Gt. Manchester. Tougher measures for areas of Greater Manchester and Lancashire came into force at midnight, with people now advised not to socialise with anyone outside their household, and funerals and weddings limited to 20 people. Yet I can still go to the pu...

Because of local lock down in Manchester, I don't think my son in law and myself can go unless we travel in separate cars. It may well be over by then but we're not wasting money just in case.

How often recently has something been reported in the press, the government denied it then a few days later announced it? Where there's smoke there is fire. Do you mean like the one that says all over 50's will have to self isolate over the 3 months of winter. I honestly can't see that one coming, ...

Didn't know they had started doing kitchens with it, but I know they do it to cars and it can be expensive. I looked into it a couple of years ago when a power washer badly scratched the front wing of my car.

Wearing the face masks. so how does everyone feel about wearing them as it's now supposed to be mandatory in shops etc. Personally I don't like it as I feel a right plonker in it, but I do feel a little bit safer while out shopping.
