Re: Sywell 2024 - Glorious

Can I ask what camera you are using as I have the same blue reflection on Jersey Jerk in your first photo, I've not seen other photos yet with it.

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

From reading the comments it looks like I must have had either a sympathetic car park guy or they changed things around as the morning went on and they realised after complaints that there should be 2 queues, just don't shoot the messenger for repeating what I was told. I asked if we need to go join...

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

The worst (un)organised queuing system I've seen. Early arrivers formed an early queue along the hedge on the left. Later arrivers just decided to form their own queue on the right, getting in before those who had been queuing for more than an hour. Other just ignored both queues and just barged st...

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

Can I get away with using a 300mm prime lens, I also have a 1.4TC, or would it be better to use a longer zoom at 600mm

Re: One photo of a Bittern and Black Headed Gull.

Thanks for the kind comments. I must say I was doing the old dance around St Aidan's when I'd looked at it in camera.
Capercaillie, I'm not sure how to send it direct to them, I'll have a look in the magazine as I can't see anything on the web site apart from the community page.

Re: Sywell Airshow 2024

Can I ask what the traffic is expected to be like getting in, do we need to think about getting there early or would mid morning be OK.

One photo of a Bittern and Black Headed Gull.

I went to RSPA St Aidan's a couple of weeks ago for the first time hoping to get to see the Bitterns as they seemed to be showing well from my FB groups. I wasn't disappointed as the Gull managed to flush this Bittern from the reeds. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53774034831_bcf4ec96f6_h.jpg B...

Red Squirrels at Shap, Cumbria.

I'm starting to get myself out a bit more now that I'm feeling better. So I managed to persuade some friends to drive up to Shap for the Red Squirrels and what a magical day it was. Using my new(ish) OM-1 with the 100-400 lens for squirrels and the 12-40 f2.8 pro lens hand held for waterfall. I must...

Re: Help please... lost in deciding on a new camera system

I had a similar problem around Xmas time, I'll post what my opinions were. Canon I looked at the R7 with the cheaper 100-400 lens which came in under £2500. I also looked at the f11 I think they are 600 and 800 lenses which are cheap to buy, they come with decent reviews but are they suitable for UK...
