I'm pretty sure it's standard on all Russian-built transports and airliners.

They're not too high for a lot of vehicles ! (The tails are though)
Just looked at 100's on A.net and they've all got them painted red,looks like it's done pre-delivery automatically.

Yes I know,the picture was taken seconds before I fell over due to people spiking my glasses of Coke with that nasty Smirnoff Blue label stuff.
