Re: Aircraft music?

Maybe add 'Ride of the Valkyries' by Richard Wagner. Not at all sure the XB-70A was around in those days?

Re: Sea King flies

Good News, but I remain very doubtful of any 'large gatherings' this side of 2021. The "social factor" of Duxford's provisions for a potential 80th BoB show in September 2020 are both laudable & laughable at the same time! PS:-I've done a few Helimeets previously, but never a 'Helmet' ?? Gotta love ...

Re: Social Distance Spotting

Mantaining the 2 metre distancing at popular spotting / photography airfields will be problematic due to the increased weekday attendance of furloughed/newly redundant persons not usually able to go in the week! Added to that the sheer number of retired persons (aka 'Survivors') keen to make the mos...

Excellent series of photo's. I'm especially intrigued by the last shot which features 8454M/XP442-Argosy T.2 (Whistling T*t) evidently 'post augmentation' with a super nipple!! :yahoo:

This Bank Holiday Friday is cancelled as of 6th May 2020 due to Covid-19 . It will revert to the original Monday just gone. The Government apologises to both people who are not 'essential workers' who went to work on their day-off!

An informative piece of info' 'Brenden S'. For clarity your reference to "descant" (a musical Term? ) should read "desiccant" (a hygroscopic substance used as a drying agent.)
Error is probably courtesy of spellchecker, but easily edited?

Re: Will air shows be cancelled because of coronavirus

I'd hope that the more minor fly-in's will still be going ahead, Compton Abbas, Popham, Henstridge, (sadly Old Sarum is closed) etc., which are the only type of events that I tend to visit anyway these days. Alex dear Chap. What in sweet hell has this got to do with people trying to 'have their C-9...

Postponed, rather than cancelled. Yeovilton cancelled. ^^^^^^ This. It was cancelled......now changed to postponed. 23 Mar Announcement about the RAF Cosford Air Show 2020 m You all keep safe from the Wuhan virus, please. I personally can't see any value in all these suspended Events being rammed i...

Couldn't agree more about Yeovilton 2020 being cancelled, but probably NOT today. The introduction of 'POETS' day began in Somerset & RNAS Yeovilton has embraced it to the extreme. It's now gone 3pm on a Friday & the last person leaving switched-off the lights @ midday.

Easy 'LaurenceG', you'll give your a heart-attack. We all die sometime, maybe now, maybe later? You could shut yourself away for 6 months & the first day you step-out...get hit by a Bus! Destiny is the word! It's a traditional English habit to use 'black humour' to counter adverse situations ove...

I looked at the Canon SX70 HS review & was amazed at the 'optical zoom range'! With all the features listed, I marvel at what you potentially get for such a small price-tag & almost instantly realise there must be a downside somewhere? In fairness, the shots you've posted on Flickr mostly fe...

Re: Will air shows be cancelled because of coronavirus

In the near future some very hard decisions will have to be made, especially if you have elderly relatives living nearby, or indeed share a dwelling-house with such a person. Clearly, if they are able to cope on their own, dress & feed themselves you could do worse than stay away. If you live wi...

Re: Will air shows be cancelled because of coronavirus

I noticed that tickets for the IWM Duxford BoB. Air-show in September are "Non-transferable & Non-refundable" according to their website. I don't think that this COVID 19 will affect this show by then, unless you buy a ticket now & then die from the virus! Either way....it works ou...

Very interesting selection of shots indicative perhaps of some long days spent at the fence. Those Alpha-jets are looking great alongside the main event . (no...not EF-2000's!) Could you please indicate a 'normal' day of activity in terms of missions flown, if such a thing exists? I had hoped to tie...

Drivers that stop 12ft from the car in front at traffic lights then gradually creep up. Why not stop closer in the first place? Because that means you only get one dose of whiplash when some arsewipe on their phone clatters into the back of the car behind you!... or because you're driving an automa...

Clearly we're all "for the jump" whether we subscribe to the Doomsday predictions or not. RIAT may or may not happen, Bruntingthorpe may or may not have aviation content going forward, but for certain..we all gonna die, merely a question of when? Regarding the COVID19, I thought the elderl...

Inspired by your Lakenheath set, I had to check these out. I haven't been back to Coningsby since they decided to make the fleet anonymous, bar the numbers!
Your shots have transformed the mundane into an eclectic, interesting presentation. Well done.
