Re: Heathrow Expansion??
The Chinese certainly need a bigger Cargo-hub for their larger future exports of hideous viruses?
Given the current passenger projections for LHR going forward, it's currently hard to imagine how a third runway operational by 2028 can be justified.

Not sure about the USA as they seem to get them flying & then 'break' them in quick succession! The German-based one is still flying afik? Checkout this www.flugmuseum-messerschmitt.com for more info' & the display Youtube from Airpower 16 in Zeltweg. If RIAT 2021 want it I'm sure it will be well re...

I'm fairly sure the external Fire Escape stairs from the tail boom area down to the ground at the back will never be noticeable!

Somehow missed this post previously. Great coverage & photography of the various events & locations. I was there for the 75th Anniversary period & only saw a fraction of what you have shown us. The Caen Carpiquet DC3 event was a complete shambles, even if the sun had been out.

Very good reasoning! Once they're scheduled for end of service, the weather & circumstances never provide opportunities to photograph them like this.
The first shot is 'stand-out', but shot 6 is my first pick favourite.

'Lucky Dip' my inquisitive buddy! Even the Organising Committee don't know the answers. Safe to say based on previous experience that Saturday tends to be better for content, serviceability & aircraft returning to Fairford to land ready for Sunday show. Aside from displays departing "off-slot" on Su...

Maybe add 'Ride of the Valkyries' by Richard Wagner. Not at all sure the XB-70A was around in those days?

Re: Sea King flies
Good News, but I remain very doubtful of any 'large gatherings' this side of 2021. The "social factor" of Duxford's provisions for a potential 80th BoB show in September 2020 are both laudable & laughable at the same time! PS:-I've done a few Helimeets previously, but never a 'Helmet' ?? Gotta love ...

Re: Social Distance Spotting
Mantaining the 2 metre distancing at popular spotting / photography airfields will be problematic due to the increased weekday attendance of furloughed/newly redundant persons not usually able to go in the week! Added to that the sheer number of retired persons (aka 'Survivors') keen to make the mos...

Excellent series of photo's. I'm especially intrigued by the last shot which features 8454M/XP442-Argosy T.2 (Whistling T*t) evidently 'post augmentation' with a super nipple!!

This Bank Holiday Friday is cancelled as of 6th May 2020 due to Covid-19 . It will revert to the original Monday just gone. The Government apologises to both people who are not 'essential workers' who went to work on their day-off!

An informative piece of info' 'Brenden S'. For clarity your reference to "descant" (a musical Term?
) should read "desiccant" (a hygroscopic substance used as a drying agent.)

Re: Will air shows be cancelled because of coronavirus
I'd hope that the more minor fly-in's will still be going ahead, Compton Abbas, Popham, Henstridge, (sadly Old Sarum is closed) etc., which are the only type of events that I tend to visit anyway these days. Alex dear Chap. What in sweet hell has this got to do with people trying to 'have their C-9...

Couldn't agree more about Yeovilton 2020 being cancelled, but probably NOT today. The introduction of 'POETS' day began in Somerset & RNAS Yeovilton has embraced it to the extreme. It's now gone 3pm on a Friday & the last person leaving switched-off the lights @ midday.

Easy 'LaurenceG', you'll give your a heart-attack. We all die sometime, maybe now, maybe later? You could shut yourself away for 6 months & the first day you step-out...get hit by a Bus! Destiny is the word! It's a traditional English habit to use 'black humour' to counter adverse situations ove...

I looked at the Canon SX70 HS review & was amazed at the 'optical zoom range'! With all the features listed, I marvel at what you potentially get for such a small price-tag & almost instantly realise there must be a downside somewhere? In fairness, the shots you've posted on Flickr mostly fe...

Nah! They just got lucky with pulling the funding just in time to stop them losing a wedge! Aye, a canny bit o' foresight alright.
