Google Military Airband receiver/Scanner Googly556. Probably a bit late for getting one & entering the frequencies for this year?

Great presentation from the French & well caught by yourself. The two Apaches & single Wildcat role demo' did feature as part of the AAC Families & Guests evening commencing at 18:30 L. Cunningly concealed under the coded event title of EagleFest. The Army Wildcat (AAC160) routed-in to M...

Re: Polish M346 crash at Gdynia

Awful video, rest in peace to the pilot and my condolences to his family. I’m new to the airshow news scene, but do crashes come to light frequently every year? I’ve noticed it often this and last year To an extent these type of incidents have always occurred, but social media brings it rapidly &am...

Catchy little song that I just can't get out of my head. Constantly singing along with the lyrics. Oh wait?

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

Does it really matter what aircraft are or aren't in the NATO Flypast?
Is it truly a factor in deciding whether or not to be there?

If the answer is no to both, take an anal relaxer & just enjoy what you get to see on the day. Excitement often masks subsequent disappointment. Don't fall for it!

Brilliant insight 'clearstone'. :open_mouth: I had only heard of 'purdah' in relation to partitioning Muslim women before now! Never in connection with Politics, much less the implications! Having you explain the concept concisely, I can now possibly understand the lack of Airshow announcements &...

Indeed it was the Leased RAF Falcons jump-ship! This cost-cutting is really starting to bite! Is it just me? That Sunday audience is pitiful. I've seen more people on that beach on Christmas Day! It seems that with only those that are living a bus/bike-ride or walking distance ...

In reality BC you probably had a better view of what you did see than down on the Swansea beach? I watched the 'Live broadcast' streamed from the Display & was amazed at the display Distance off-shore & by the extended midway break of close to 40 minutes. Sea King was great to see fly...

Basis of thinking =The combination of weather & apathy for Headcorn should make it pan-out okay for overcrowding. I could still buy a ticket for later today (Saturday) right now at the time of this post. BUT I won't, coz the weather forecast is sheite! :grimacing: I could have bought a Ticket fo...

Re: Interesting Internet

This is a realistic proposition as role demo' training has commenced. Don't expect this to be at RIAT in 2024, but look to the 2025 Season for this featuring at select locations.

The full demo' will feature 2 x AH-64E & 1 x Wildcat AH-1.

Nice additions. Assuming your Alcyon ID. query is for the garish cammo' example, I know of an example (the only in this scheme?) which was around in the US. during the period of your shot. It would appear to be ex. French AF serial 55 40 (c/n 40) which flew with the displayed registration 'N5540'. T...

Late to the party here! A wonderful set of images from a superb location I have visited many times. As said previously, the line-up this year was a little thin compared to prior years imo. That said, the black clouds provided unique opportunities well taken, especially the funnel vortex! The first s...

Great set of images here in super blue skies. Sad to hear not one of the D-Day Dak's made it down to Italy. They suffered bad luck with serviceability, weather & logistics throughout their Tour this year. Just look for photo's of them from this year & only the early Old Warden, UK visit real...

Best suggestion would be a 100-400 or 100-500 for Canon or a 150-600 for Nikon.
Do you shoot the display line or the turn-outs & pitch-ups? Me, I would take both, coz the one you leave in the Car is the one you'll need! :triumph:
