Re: Prometheus and friends

Excellent shots! '3001' with shadow is eye-catching but that last one is the pick for me as he's got over 90 degrees of bank with tail-markings visible. :grinning:

One small correction to the previous, if I may?
"Sywell IS a great venue for an airshow."
I personally hope that an event similar to 2024 will return in years to come. :sunglasses:

That's a super selection from your trips. That Miami visit was well worth it. Hualien is luck of the draw from that location as to how long you actually get to remain there. Cover of darkness was useful on your first visit!

Gonna be a hard act to follow in 2025. Good Luck.

According to the Team’s website, Capt. Taylor "Fema" Hiester flies the plane in the 2025 Season, which represents the Air Combat Command at more than 20 shows each year. He’s based at Shaw AFB. His callsign is 'Fema' which is NOT an abbreviation of His Gender! Trust me, I identify as a Doc...

Re: Crowdfunder - Moving The Revill Jet Collection to Wellesbourne

Upon first sight of these air-frames I struggle to see the merit of the types to be 'rescued' ? If they were unique in provenance or any other way then Yes? There's multiple examples of these around in better condition, some even in near to flying condition. Given the obvious neglect it...

Amazing how the Camera knows exactly when to fail. :rage: Well done for being so philosophical about it, but dare I mention the value of always carrying some kind of back-up camera body aside from the mobile? In my experience there are few digital SLR bodies that warrant the repair expense of new Sh...

Coming after the RIAT Extravaganza with punitive T's&C's like that, they would have to pay ME to attend!
It's a 'Posh-knob' event for people who go to one airshow a year & don't mind having their trousers taken down IMO.

Good to see that I made the right decision to abstain from this show on both content & weather criteria. Your shot horizons are a little off (Travel Air/Shot 6 especially) but for me that would also be indicative of my apathy for photography in those conditions. As you said, a day for 'watching'...

Nothing new there! I've seen multiple examples of self-modified 6, 8 & even 10 tread ladders with wheels & support platform added, both in UK. & Central Europe. Either by raiding B&Q for components or salvaging folding Sack-truck parts! Seems to work well for the pr**ks that block ot...

That's excellent luck they came in on r/w 10. Shot 5 of your post demonstrates the problem shadows that would have wrecked the front
of the images if they had come in on 26!

Light on them is perfect & the 2-ship approach is great. Best detail shots I've seen of this visit.

It was scheduled to be there. It was postponed to later in that year due to some new-fangled killer-bug.They re-scheduled again & then binned it! I seem to remember some token event, but nobody outside Portugal could get there IIRC? They named it Covid 19 & it grew & grew. The rest is hi...

"or otherwise unique Airshow for 2025" you say! Best be looking for the Holy Grail at the same time too imo? In these days of increased costs for Airshow participants the number & variety of displays has fallen to an all-time low. The result of this is akin to the US. standard airshow ...

You certainly made the best out of your fortunate access!
The low-aspect shots are great, especially with the dapple skies.
