Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

Mooshie. There is an answer to that. If you want to go next time make sure you book a bit earlier and In the green zone they have mobility scooters for hire. It might be a good idea to hire one of them. There is also a disabled area next to friat which is well worth it. COPD is a disability. I inte...

If coming in via the brown route are the directions to the disabled parking fairly obvious? first year going into disabled parking with my Dad and paranoid I will somehow end up in the blue car park.

Learnt that lesson at Kemble in 2011, whole day it was overcast, raining and cold but came away with some of the worst sunburn I have ever had so now no matter the weather I make sure I put plenty of sunscreen on if I am going to be outside for an extended period of time.

Any confirmation if the B52 is now not flying tommorow please ? Thanks.
If something goes tech then they will work on trying to get it ready for the following day, imagine we won’t know until it’s due up tomorrow (unless they identify the issue quickly and know it can’t be fixed in time)

Public grandstand being evacuated
Due to the wind I assume (best confirm to stop people worrying )
Could have been due to the potential risk of thunderstorms moving in, had a beauty come through the Bristol area a few hours ago complete with hail.

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

Will be coming tomorrow from the Bath direction but need to end up in the disabled parking, can anyone tell me the best route to go? as on their site it recommends the brown route if coming from my way but that seems to join with the blue route which would result with me being in the blue car park w...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

I thought that after RIAT 08 they said lessons were learnt and substantial tracking would feature in all car parks in future!? I thought it was after 2008 that they started putting down the tracking? before that is was far more limited if present at all. That's right, since 08 there has (supposedly...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

Hopefully not cancelled tomorrow but yes, please give plenty of notice I don’t honestly think the organisers could afford another cancelled show, especially so soon after the 2020/21 shows. It must have a huge financial impact. Besides, if the worst was to happen, hopefully either the static is ope...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

Feel for Friday (and to some extent Saturday) visitors as it looks a bit grim for rain and especially wind. Recall all too well the recent Saturday when we got an F16 doing a fast taxi but not much else, although it did improve weather wise that day if memory serves... I remember Saturday 2011, oh ...

Not sure on the year (might have been 2015) but I remember looking at the forecast for the Sunday on the Friday and it was showing a wash out, was then out all of Saturday so didn’t check again until that evening but it had changed to heavy showers all day. Come the Sunday guess what we had, blue sk...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)

So what we all thinking weather wise looks like will be hot for certain but what about these hit and miss storms could cause havoc for the cars parked on grass. I think it would have to be quite prolonged rain to cause much of an issue, no risk of cars getting stuck in mud IMO as it’s baked solid.

Hello everybody, hope everybody who went today had a great time. Is the parking on base or a distance away as I d...

Very surprised that the Hellenic F-16’s rehearsal wasn’t terminated after that crowdline breach. I’ve never seen anything like that before! I think in 2014 or 2015 a Tornado didn’t a similar crowd line breach, I remember as I was in the grandstand seating and as he was approaching I was thinking “h...

If you can come off at 17 and head north.
In previous years I had always got off at the Swindon junction but this time on my way from Bath it said to get off at junction 17 for RIAT so assumed it was a new route, or have I just not been paying attention before lol

What a great day that was, gorgeous weather in the morning and a lively breeze whilst walking the static then found a nice shady spot for 11am and didn’t move until gone 4pm after the E4B had landed. Worth seeking out on Sunday do you think, or the kind of shady spot 50000 other people will be tryi...

Can anyone advise what traffic is usually like on a Friday morning? I will personally be leaving Bristol at about 7am and hoping to arrive before 9 so ca...
