Re: Duxford Showcase Days 2020

Excuse ignorance but I was thinking about getting tix for this but the entry time issue is confusing me. There is no info about this on the website. Can you not buy tickets and rock up at any time or even just for the afternoon?

Re: Cats!

Our new Balinese is a handful... Having lived with two Balinese I agree that they can indeed be "a handfull"! I would love to see a picture of Ziggy once his points and tail plume have developed. Do you have any idea what colour he will be? He'll be a pure white, which is very rare appare...

Surprised there is no mention of RAF Typhoon. Thought it was a cracking display full of muscle and aggression throughout.

Re: Flying Legends 2019

Flying Legends have confirmed that the Silver Spitfire will NOT be appearing this weekend because they are busy preparing for their round the world flight. Good. Each to their own, but interested to know why you wouldn't be interested in seeing a Spitfire with such an extensive combat record displa...

Re: Flying Legends 2019

Just looking back at the 2010 programme... 55 aircraft that year including 30 different types from all over Europe including the I-16, seven P-51s, three Skyraiders, an A26 etc etc. I keep reading that we have a flourishing warbird scene but that doesn't seem to be the case if the country's premiere...

Re: Catch 22 Mini series

I've seen the whole series... the flying is the least interesting aspect of the whole show and the B25s that were used are most effective in the B-roll footage on the ground or the incredibly dramatic scenes of them landing, engines ablaze. A great show of an even better novel but the aircraft take ...

Doesn't look like the Flying Bulls will be at Legends this year as much of their fleet is at an air race event in Hungary.

Re: Flying Legends 2018

So Legends can have an F-15, F-22, F-35 and Red Arrows... but no Me-262!? Jeez, this was so predictable... I'm sure it's a bit more complicated than 'ooh, do you want an Me-262? Yeah, go on then'. The Heritage flight is already at RIAT so sharing of assets makes sense and it's the Heritage Flight; ...

no clash with Scampton then next year.

That's going to feel a bit weird. I always associate Southport with the end of the summer, not the start, but I suppose it's something to do with the tides.

Re: Thunderbirds opinions

I was thoroughly entertained by the Thunderbirds on Sunday. I like the fact that you're always looking around for them and quite often get buzzed when you least expect it. They look and sound great too. Having said that, the Reds were easily the best display team on the day. The Swiss were also grea...

Re: RIAT 2017 (Discussion & Participation Thread)

Great day today! Weather was so much better than expected and the flying was superb! Highlights were both Gripens, the Belgian F16, the Rafale (probably the best solo display), Typhoon and the Slovenian PC-9M. The Thunderbirds were fun but the Reds were definitely the best display team, which was so...

New participating aircraft added to the Flying Legends Airshow the final addition to the line-up on the 8-9 July 2017 are: Hawker Hurricane Mk.I P2902 (debut) and Hawker Sea Hurricane Mk.Ib Z7015/7-L. That makes a storm swarm of five Hurricanes at Flying Legends! https://www.facebook.com/FlyingLege...

Re: RIAT 2017 (Discussion & Participation Thread)

At the moment the show is about five performance slots down from last year and there are only ten fast jet displays compared to last year's sixteen. The static is certainly incredible in its scale and I feel bad for never taking the time to really appreciate this aspect of the show in previous years....
