Re: Guy Gibson's Dog Headstone replaced

FJ - the point I was making was to replace one unacceptable word with another which is also perjorative shows the ignorance of the person/committee making the decision on the substitute word . Unless they knew EXACTLY what they were doing - so the 'insult' is hidden in plain sight. To the casual ob...

Numerous stories circulating from people who have tried to provide PPE to the NHS but have been ignored as they aee not on the 'NHS preferred' sellers list which is only reviewed twice a year. I'll leave it up to you to decide whether this was just 'business as usual' NHS bureaucracy being too restr...

I think the poster was referring to the slow taxi runs Cosford did a few years ago. Given their runway is only 1100m with virtually no run off at each end and then a live railway line I doubt a fast taxi was ever considered. Bentwaters on the other hand from Google Earth appears to have a runway of ...

Thanks for the update Berf. It's been mentioned in the MSM here.

When crisis is finally declared over it will be interesting to compare and contrast the results from the UK method of tackling Covid-19 and the Swedish method and to see which (if either) could be said to have been more successful.

My employer (financial services, remember) have said they will be paying everyone £30 p/m expenses to cover incidental expenses while we're all WFH. Which given the fact that I'm not incurring any additional expenses by being at home as its warm enough to not need the heating on now and I'm saving m...

Re: Pausing Sky Sports

If you pay by direct debit, cancel it, and then see how long it takes for them to contact you. A mate of mine did that. The rigmarole for cancelling with Sky was so convoluted he just cancelled his direct debit. Sky simply and illegally unilaterally reinstated the DDEB and carried on collecting the...

I think it is only a matter of time before the decision to cancel events such as RIAT and Yeovilton is made. Zero chance the virus will still be going in July/ August. This article shows how with a lock down like they have in Italy currently and we will almost certainly have here shortly you can br...
