Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Take half an hour to listen to Radio 4s More or Less programme (broadcast this morning). The series has been looking at Covid stats for the last 14 weeks and the one today is using hindsight to explain decisions, looking at what has and hasn't worked and compares national reporting. it's a very bal...

It's not if you are on your own. Fortunately many venues stopped this single person discrimination many years ago.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I went through some statistics for some volunteering I do at my club yesterday using the latest Public Health England data - they made for some scary reading. The current mortality rate for those infected in England is 16% 42% of cases have been in males The mortality rate for males is 22% In males...

Some balanced debates on this forum lately so I'd like to ask where people her think the current scenario is leading us. Free speech has always been very important on my agenda but I fear that we are losing this most important element of a free society. The Burnley banner this evening is a great exa...

On almost everything else to do with this crisis, they have failed miserably.
I think the target to protect the NHS worked admirably, the question is whether it was right to have it as a primary target over everything else.

Hold on. How much? I’ve changed my mind. (Unless it’s due a repaint anyway and that plus the difference is nil/very little, as speculated above. Need to get to the facts though.) Nobody does facts anymore, they don't stimulate trolls and huge amounts of internet advertising profits. It would be pre...

Congratulations to everybody on this forum. I've just read through the whole thread and it is extremely well balanced, full of common sense and never once degenerates into ya boo. Hopefully in the not too distant future we will have airshow stuff to discuss.

Zoom - much more appropriate to replace it with one of William Wilberforce. The removal of statue by a mob is a dangerous precedent in that by supporting it support is being given to the rewriting of history. The removing of that particular statue loses the opportunity to explain that slavery has b...

There's no doubt that cases will rise. It's inevitable following these loosening of restrictions and senior government advisers getting away with ignoring the ones that were there. If he'd been fined, it might have sent a message to others thinking of ignoring the regulations. The social meeting up...

I've seen a few PMs and governments in my time and this has to be the most absurd scenario I've ever seen. A PM with a relatively high popularity rating seems prepared to trash his career when it peaked just months ago. The Daily Mail and the Guardian agree when does that happen except on the queens...

We can't be dipping in and out of lockdowns we'll end up in a more parlous situation than Greece came even close to in 2008-11. If there is a spike, it won't prove Johnson wrong, anymore than merkel, it will simply mean we have to retreat and think up something else. But lockdown or lockdowns can't...

Either PMBJ or Raab don't know what they are talking a...
