Re: The UKAR politics thread
My view is that any MP defecting must by default secure a by-election on his or her new ticket. And any change in PM must by default trigger a general election . Not sure about that. You would do well to get a vote of no confidence in any sitting PM if it meant there was a chance that those wanting...

Has anybody noticed how the wicked witch of the north aka Angela Raynor has been miraculously transformed into to an attractive level headed fluent speaker with personality.

I think Blair is appropriately remembered..., and he did a lot of domestic good,... I'm struggling to think of anything good Blair did. No aspect of my life improved because of his policies. Everything got a little bit worse. What am I missing? Where I have great admiration for Blair is his ability...

Icicle Meet cancelled
Just noticed that Icicle Meet Refrozen this coming weekend has been cancelled. A big stamp on the site's home page but no explanation, presumably covid. A great shame I was looking forward to getting out.

You could ask for anybody who has c1965 Air Pictorials. They were advertised in just about every edition.skyking_comms wrote: ↑Mon 27 Dec 2021, 1:13 pmIf anyone can provide a picture of the Mk 6 then I'd be happy to add it to the website - otherwise it remains a 'mythical' radio!

The Shorrock mark 6 was beautiful and what I would have wanted more than anything in the world. Unfortunately for a 12 year old schoolboy the £36 needed to buy one was a kings ransom. Two of my friends had one and one was still using his held together by tape forty years on.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.
The thing is without context, saying someone dying “with” Omicron means nothing in the general scheme of things. It could be that Omicron/Covid was not a contributing factor to the death. It could be that it was a factor but the person was very old or had other health conditions that made them vuln...

Re: The UKAR politics thread
So it looks like many people here 'quite' like Starmer because he isn't Corbyn, May, etc. Quite a few here credit him with being a very clever dark horse. But explain to me why he can't just whip Labour to vote against Boris's rather draconian measures next week and win a huge majority supported by ...

I have been politically confused for some time now but my uncertainty has reached a new peak with the realisation that the leader of the opposition is the Prime Ministers biggest supporter. I see in one of Tommy's posts above he seems to suggest that Sir Keir is a bit more canny than I give him cred...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.
Question I have thought of today, with football transfers happening at the moment, shouldn't those arriving from Spain etc be self isolating on arrival and therefore not completing medicals and deals etc?? Football is exempt from all things COVID. This was clearly illustrated on the BBC news when G...

Re: Sully question
I've just watched Sully for the first time. About 80% of passengers left the plane without life jackets. Was that true. I've heard that message so many times "In the unfortunate event that the plane comes down on water" I'm sure I would grab my lifejacket. If the film’s transcript follows...
