Re: EA-18's at Prestwick

Thanks for the comments. Prestwick is great for variety but is a long drive to get to for myself. The Omega tanker was used as I believe they were over for a sales pitch by Boeing.

EA-18's at Prestwick

Made the trip through to Prestwick this morning to catch the pair of EA-18G's and their DC-10 tanker departing to the US following their visit to Finland. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/888/28057996677_b34e7debc9_b.jpg DSC_2395 by Calum Linnen , on Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1803/28057942...

Thanks once again for all the comments. "Goliath" arrived in the port of Montrose this afternoon for onward transport back to the US. Thankfully I managed to make it down to capture the arrival. Weather was great and the crew obliged with a couple of low passes prior to landing. https://fa...

Thank you for all the comments so far. I'll be sure to post them in the working helicopters thread! I believe that the helo is heading to meet a ship on Monday to be transported back to the states.

Erickson Air-Crane "Goliath" Aberdeenshire **Updated**

"Goliath" has been in country since the start of January assisting with the construction of electricity pylons. Sadly, poor weather delayed the project and it has only been flying since the 2nd of Feb. I managed to spend a few hours photographing it today as it did it's work. It's some mac...

Bristow Rescue in Aberdeen

Was lucky enough to catch Bristow Rescue 1 from the Ekofisk complex in the Norwegian North Sea arriving with a casualty at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Here are a few images of it's departure following handing over the patient to the Ambulance Service. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4673/25024026717_3f...

Coastguard at North Berwick

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to photograph a winching exercise at North Berwick, East Lothian the other week. This saw Coastguard 199, the Prestwick based AW-189 conduct winching exercises with the local D-Class Inshore Lifeboat. Conditions on the ground were great, if not a little cold...

Re: Junglies at RM Condor

I'm trying to track down which of these were involved in the HMS Prince Of Wales Aircraft Carrier Naming Flypast? I'm after the serial and the callsign if possible? Serials were ZJ990 and ZJ994. No idea of C/S however. These were taken a few days before the flypast howver. Nice catch. Are the large...

Junglies at RM Condor

RM Condor in Arbroath has been playing host to a pair of Merlin HC-3A's over the past week. I was lucky enough to catch them departing on a sortie on Wednesday night in some lovely light. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4424/36238345604_0325c662ef_b.jpg DSC_8202 by Calum Linnen , on Flickr https://fa...

Leuchars is currently playing host to a selection of rotary and fixed wing aircraft for Ex Chameleon. I was lucky enough to catch an Osprey C/S Knife 71 carrying out fast roping work with the units on ex. It's great to see the base active again, albeit for a few weeks. https://farm5.staticflickr.com...

Thanks. Off the top of my head it's something like 20 and two stretchers. Prestwick is changing to the 189 in April which obviously will carry much less.

Coastguard 999 at Arbroath

Today saw Coastguard 999 from Prestwick visit Arbroath to exercise with the local Lifeboats from Arbroath, Montrose and Broughty Ferry. Sadly the sea haar began to descend just as things kicked off, this couples with shooting into the sun made things a bit tricky. Nevertheless here are my efforts fr...

Jag's last prowl

I know I'm a couple of days late in uploading but thought I'd share with you all anyway. Having never caught the jaguar operationally I jumped at the chance to photograph it's last hurrah at RAF Cosford. As I live roughly 30 miles South of Aberdeen, it was a fair trek for me (800 miles give or take!...
