Re: RIAT 2017 wishlist

Now I know how sensitive mods are here - deleting a harmless but mildly provocative post in response to a rather petulant reminder......

Re: Norwegian Starfighter Soon to Fly?

Yes, airshows on mainland Europe just become rather more attractive. You could feasibly have an airshow on the continent featuring: Viggen, Draken, Lansen, Tunnan, F-104, Mirage III - all in the flying display. To say nothing of the various other classic jet types kicking around anyway: Hunters, Ma...

Re: RIAT 2017 wishlist

Does the CAA hold the same jurisdiction over the Channel Islands as it does over the UK mainland?

Re: Norwegian Starfighter Soon to Fly?

Thankis, and not complaining but it seems to be the You Tube video RobS posted earlier. It would be good to see some footage from the South of the full take off and touch and go.

Couldn't have put it better. As Derek said above there is a great deal of selfish insensitivity in this thread. Quite unpleasant.

As you say another thread but I suspect the continually spiralling population increase due to a number of reasons will ultimately be the catalyst for our downfall.

Humans in North Korea??!! That'll be the day! No, I won't engage with you in that argument- I sense we are already poles apart!

Re: First North Korean air show

I like whales a lot. They don't seem to have any choice in the matter if they get barbarically hunted and killed or not either. No they don't but then neither do the thousands of human beings in North Korea. And pace any Ukarians who equate human and animal life, but I think I know which nation I'd...

Re: First North Korean air show

Hypocritically however, I have visited both Iceland and Japan, despite being appalled by their continuing whaling practices. Make of that what you will. Chris Don't worry, Chris - I think you'll sleep easily. I don't think you can compare whaling by two democratic nations with the lack of free spee...

Re: Monarch Airlines To Cease Trading?

Except that the secret still is just that - a secret. It's the speculation that's rampant..and all to no avail, other to sow seeds of doubt about a commercial undertaking.

Traveller - of course visitors are treated superbly!! How else would they conceivably be treated??!! And if visitors return home to tell what a marvellous place it is and how wonderful everyone is then they have done their job.

Re: First North Korean air show

Boff -that's quite right, of course, and most of the world's population comprises armchair experts simply because very very few are allowed access. But there is sufficient information from those who have been and reported objectively together with its citizens who have escaped to tell us of their li...

Re: First North Korean air show

I am less interested in the "rubbish" fed by the media than by the first hand "rubbish" told to us first hand by those few who have escaped the dictatorship. There have been several filmed and audio reports from North Korea and they have all been clearly stage managed to leave th...

Re: Monarch Airlines To Cease Trading?

Ah but it's all about context and interpretation. Monarch said "significant investment" would be announced. So that's either a positive statement and a ringing endorsement or a suggestion that it needs investment to save it. Likewise the talks with the CAA probably did take place but unles...

But if neither of those "reports" is corroborated they should not be placed in the public domain. The rush to the scoop destroys any semblance of responsible reporting.
