Re: New show date 18th October Season finale?

At the most recent one you were allowed to walk around the site and the flight line before the show started and there were a couple of stools set up, I didn't wander over there to see what they were. The house was open for a tour as was the Swiss Garden, which was also open for a general wander and...

Re: New show date 18th October Season finale?

These "Drive In" events at Old Warden; are you literally restricted to your car/the immediate area wherever you're parked? Are there any book/model stores to wander around for a mooch? Can you walk the flight-line?

Vintage Air Day Sun 6th Sep

Does anyone know if this show is likely to go ahead? Advance tickets were refunded, but the event is still advertised on the Shuttleworth site?

Re: Best Lens advise

Try the Canon EF 400mm F5.6L, probably one of the sharpest lenses around (imho), light as a feather and easy to handle, none intrusive, it's an ideal travelling lens, solidly & quality constructed. It's been around for some time but is easily sourced (try MPB Photographic), and is very affordabl...

Fabulous images. I hope to do Hahnweide some day, it looks a very atmospheric kind of place (and only about thirty minutes drive from Stuttgart too)

I would imagine if Jetfest is not a corporate sponsored event (?) then the pitch prices could potentially be more attractive to stall holders

Was at North Weald a few years back for a photo-call, and I recall seeing a MiG-17 in one of the hangars. Is it still resident?

Re: RIAT 2019 weather watch.

Doesn't have to be all negative about the weather, the rain could even come as a refreshing relief in the coming heatwave - remember that tropical rain shower in 1994? I've still got one of those German Army shirts that were being flogged off for 50p a pop, trader must have made a killing that day! ...

A great day today, really feared the worst driving there this morning with the weather but it played ball massively. I've never ever taken any notice of the RJF at RIAT, but after today they've totally changed my opinion of them with a great display. 7 Hurricanes was a sight to behold, even Sally B...

Re: RIAT 2019

Is there any height limit for the fairground rides ? I'm thinking a ' Star Flyer' Chair-a-plane style ride would be nice , the name fits both with the space theme and with aviation generally , plus you'd get some good photos from 100m up . … and then suddenly you pull 3g's and your camera flies out...
