Same owners as the Gnats at North Weald looking at Companies House.

Apparently the F/A.2 is merely a signature away from flying, according to some sources.
Maybe, but there is a massive burden of responsibility on the owner of that signature, especially in these (post Shoreham) times.

Re: Robert Taylor RIP

Sad to hear this. My first ever aviation prints were Robert Taylors, way back in 1983, Duel of Eagles & Victory over Dunkirk. Still around, a bit faded but I won't part with them.
God bless.

I'm referring to the Tempest, I hope we don't see a repeat of the underwhelming display that was performed last October by the Fury.

Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.

Since one of the main themes for RIAT 24 is the 50th Anniversary of the F-16, it would be wonderful if the net was cast out further afield to include other more obscure F-16 users like; Iraq, Jordan, Romania, Pakistan, South East Asia & distant cousins - JASDF F-2's.

Regrettably, there's no answer to that situation. We can only be philosophical then, by saying that we were lucky enough to enjoy them for a while :slight_frown:

Re: Yorkshire and Midlands Museum road trip

Looks a decent run there, was that tour accomplished in one day?
Otherwise, I would suggest you could further extend the route by heading West along the A50 then picking up the M6 Southbound where you could take in Cosford and Coventry

Re: Bruntingthorpe Cold War Jets 2014

How long will the contract with Cox Automotive last? The worrying thing is that the larger jets, all corralled in an enclosure at the other end of the airfield, will easily start to deteriate if not maintained.

Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.

I would be a very happy bunny indeed if a VQ-2 EP-3E Aeries II from Rota showed up. Not seen one of those for donkeys' years. I think the last time was at IAT 91 when one of them accompanied that legendary EA-3B before it retired. Came again in 1992 (at Boscombe) and 1998. They are due to go very s...

Re: Gathering of Moths?

Ah, combining the fly in with the Meraki car rally kind of dilutes the event somewhat. Being SVAS I did book a free pass for this event, but then maybe I'll give it a miss. It's a three hour drive to OW from where I live.

Whose error? Because I heard it announced at yesterday's show that the DH Fly-in, is indeed happening on Saturday (9th), apparently with the possible inclusion of a DH.104 Dove.

Re: Bedfordshire Vintage Air Show - 3rd September 2023

Quite a decent show with a good line up, some gems amongst the visitors - for me the tricyle under cariage Beech 18 was a new one. The light was brilliant for photographs, surprisingly there was no haze despite the early morning pea souper. It was so good that I actually dug out my rarely used 1.4 t...

Sorry I am late into this . . . .
The deHMC's Gathering of Moths that was due to take place at Bicester on Friday, 11 August 2023 has been switched to Turweston at the last minute.
Looks an interesting place, will it be open to the public by any chance?
