Re: Teesside Airshow 2022

Traffic management (or lack thereof) was shocking. Doesn't look like the organisers did their due diligence at all. Busy is one thing but this was pretty much gridlock for long spells.

Re: Bruntingthorpe - Light and dark...

In all honesty, if you hadn't specified that the first two were deliberate I would've thought you'd just got the exposure very wrong when taking them. However, I do think the dark ones work better, I particularly like the Buccaneer shot.

I photographed them returning to Newcastle Airport on that day. Unfortunately I didn't photograph one of the Hawks so missed the serial of that one, but the other eight numbers I can give you are: XX311, XX244, XX325, XX322, XX219, XX310, XX319 and XX242

Do you know something - I stopped posting on here months ago because of the bigoted attitude of some people on here, particularly but not solely re XH558. however I saw this post this morning anf felt it necessary to break my silence. I feel it most offended just because I am a a self confessed str...

The ranting nationalist This is the worst. To this character, the particular aeroplane type he loves symbolises his nation and their superiority as well as his own sense of self-worth. If the aircraft type he loves is criticised he will descend into either ill-informed, one-sided defence of his air...

Hi I don't suppose you have landing shots of all 9 Red Arrows that can identify them for me. I was at East Fortune for the first time, and I normally log/photo the Reds when they land.... Except they didn't at EF. None of my Pics have sufficiency of detail for me to be able to identify them. Many t...

Re: Sunderland Airshow@Newcastle Airport 27/07/14

Thank you both for your comments, it was a pleasant afternoon outing. I mainly went in the hope that the Dakota pair and Vampire were operating out of the airport, thankfully they were! It's a shame they changed runway directions later in the day, I would have really liked to have got the D-Day Typh...

Sunderland Airshow - Mig 15?

Just wondered if you chaps could help me with something please. I didn't actually attend the Sunderland Airshow this year (prefer getting some of the aircraft at Newcastle Airport) but a relative who did go said that the programme showed a Mig-15 as part of the flying display. I checked out the Plan...

Sunderland Airshow@Newcastle Airport 27/07/14

Nothing earth shattering here but, since there seems to be no photo posts from the show at Sunderland, I thought it'd be useful to share a few shots of some of the participants operating out of Newcastle Airport on the Saturday show day for the record. #1 This is a rubbish shot, I just like it becau...

Farewell VC-10 - NCL 20/9/13

My father and I popped over to EGNT (Newcastle) to get our final look at a VC-10 as ZA147 performed a flypast of the airport whilst on it's final operational sortie. More shots of a single pass then I'd normally share, but it was a notable one so why not, I'll miss seeing the VC-10 in the EGNT circu...

ZA147 appeared on the horizon at EGNT (Newcastle) right on time at 1220 and she was a lovely sight for her flypast. Such a shame I'll never see the VC-10 again, I always loved seeing them in the circuit at EGNT from home. http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/tt91/SRH87/702_0028_zps564f34c1.jpg

I'm sorry, but most of these shots look to be out of focus, don't really know what to suggest with that, maybe just look over your gear and settings again? The Spitfire and Tucano shots are also suffering from motion blur, I assume you were using a slow shutter speed and weren't able to pan smoothly...

Re: Newcastle for Sunderland, Sunday.

Glad to see you had a better day here than I did on Saturday. They were using runway 07 so were taking off towards my usual position, which was useless for the majority of the display aircraft (given most acts were types that rotate early, even the Hunter was up like a rocket), although getting the ...
