I think you are correct about the A300, I got a bit too excited.
Still, flown on one of those as well.

Re: La Ferte 1988
Fabulous pictures, especially the Air Inter Dassault Mercure.
Brings back lots of memories, as I was lucky enough to fly on on of those from Marseilles to Paris.
Lucky?
They only made 10, but it was the forerunner of Airbus aircraft.

Osprey sighting
Two Ospreys quite low over Chippenham (Wiltshire) twice today, out and back to Salisbury Plain?
Also saw them going out, but a lot higher, on Tuesday.
Nice to see some new activity other than A400M’s, C-17’s and Herks.

Re: More Buffs
Absolutely brilliant. What great shots. I live in Chippenham, around 20 miles away from Fairford (as the BUFF flies) but haven't been up to see them yet. However, did see one yesterday overfly Lacock, whilst we were on one of our old-people's keep you fit walks. I went apesh*t, wife remained calm. W...

Very nice indeed. Takes me back to my days of trundling around the UK on Viscounts and Tridents. Lovely.

Two B52's just gone overhead Chippenham (Wiltshire). Wonderful sight as they were quite low and very close together.

Great shots in difficult light. I particularly like the evening shots as I've seen the evening displays the past two years at Clacton, and they are incredible. How OTTO doesn't shoot itself down is a mystery!

Re: Shortsbox at Dundee 1983
Wow! That brought back memories. I flew from Bristol to Dublin on an Aer Lingus 360 sometime in the '80's. It was an interesting flight as I was seated in 1A and in 1B was a 73 year old nun who (conservatively) weighed in at 16 stone. I had to get quite touchy-feely as she couldn't get her seat belt...

Re: Shannon Civil Traffic 2017 Review
What a fabulous selection. I used to visit Shannon quite regularly in the '80's and I was always fascinated by the eclectic mix of aircraft, and the Duty Free area with its large area for Stolychnia vodka, as the Aeroflot flights used to pay their landing fees in vodka (or so the story went). Anyway...

Re: P38 on M4
Thanks very much for the replies; the picture certainly looks like what I saw. Interesting to know there is one over here in that condition. I'm aware that there are three being restored to flight in the Antipodes, but I couldn't believe that any of them were far enough forward to be in that conditi...

P38 on M4
We were heading east on the M4 this morning, and around junction 8/9 I had the shock of my life when I saw, heading west, a Lockheed P38 Lightning on a low loader lorry. Fuselage (centre section and engine nacelles) were positioned across the truck, wings (and booms?) were also visible. Aircraft was...

Do RAF C-130J's have tanks between the engines? All the old marks used to have them, but I'm not aware of the C-130J's having them. Might be wrong though.

Re: Greatest random sightings?.
For me (I am 69, so there are lots to choose from), was in East Kilbride in the mid '80's, when, out of the blue the sole Miles M100 flew over on it's delivery "South" (without looking it up, I know not where). It had been stored for years and had one "delivery" flight. Another g...

Re: Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2015
Stunning pictures! Loving the reflections in the beautiful blue water of the floating harbour (it's not always like that).
I park in the Millenium Square car park all the time, and it's hard to believe that so many balloons can fit into that area.
Truly impressive.

How about a nice letter to Kermie, asking if he would be willing to part with his Sunderland/ Tempest V/ Mosquito (delete as applicable).
