Re: A-10's staying?
I started the hobby fully in about 2002 and from memory cannot think of any stateside A-10s in the UK between then and now. Regarding the future I want to be wrong, very much so!

Very, very sad to see my favourite aircraft type leave Europe. Probably never ever see another in Britain.

Re: First A-10's leave Spangdahlem :(
There's a flight of A-10's heading over the UK for Lajes, which are the first Spangdahlem A-10's heading home Very sad indeed. The end of an era. It was the A-10s from Bentwaters/Woodbridge of the 81st TFW in the early 1980s which got me hooked on military aircraft from a young age. Seeing them fly...

Re: UKIP Defence Policy
The more Tories vote for UKIP, the greater chance there is of Labour getting in! Go For It Chaps! Combined the Conservative party and Labour party have ruined this country, they have betrayed those in the military repeatedly with never ending cuts yet more and more wars. Neither of them are fit to ...

Re: UKIP Defence Policy
I would say they are the only party worth voting for. The mainstream parties are now worthless. All they have managed to do over the past 50 years is sit back and allow this country to decline. Due to their collective total failure I feel another party deserves a chance.

Going back to the point of their economy. Their economy will implode over time ! On a trully massive scale. It will make this recession look like a happy 1930's. They have poured money into their's which makes any western nations quantitive easing look like slipping pennys into a piggy bank. Just o...

That is a disturbing, and misguided view. I am sorry, but you are talking like a communist. Someone who has been 'sucked into' the ideals and ideas of a nation such as China. They get results by threats, torcher and near slavery. That is not something to be proud of. Well all I can say is none of m...

Very impressive. With all the money they have got combined with the speed at which they can build they truely are a rising superpower. Give it a decade or two and they will be the most powerful country on Earth by far. One has to admire them and the way have grown over the past decades. It really is...

Fantastic photos. So sad to see Cambrai closed, the same for Reims. It really is the end of an era. So many good aircraft and bases have gone. Sadly don't think I will be having as many trips to France anymore.

Apparently the lights are invisible to the naked eye.... as I,ve mentioned,we saw this clip some time ago on a programme that was out to prove it could be faked... bearing in mind its 'invisible' we thought the observer conveniently looked for the 'aircraft' when it was well out of the field of vie...

! How NCC could hold a referendum for the local people who would be affected by the incinerator, who then overwhelmingly vote against it, only for NCC to completely ignore them... Nice! I like it. It's like the Norwegians but a lot darker. You're wrong young Macc, it's horrid The only thing I find horrid is the F-35 reference. Ghastly machine. Re: UK to revert back to F-35B?
I can foresee a problem with that plan. If there is a problem which necessitates the temporary grounding of a particular type while investigations take place, the country would be left without any front line fast jets for a time. Don't they pay people to think of these things? Belgium, Holland, Den...

Re: UK to revert back to F-35B?
There is an article in Janes Defence Weekly this week that explains what the F-35/Typhoon fleet will look like as detailed by "MoD sources". Typhoon There will now be 7 operational squadrons plus OCU and OEU (9 units in all), tranche 1 aircraft won't be retired and will be upgraded plus t...
