Re: MicroProse The Mighty Eighth

There seems to be a resurgence in interest in developing new flight sim titles or bringImg the old ones back to life. It’s starting to feel like the old days when there was so much choice particularly in the “combat” variety. I am looking forward to the “mighty eighth” particularly as I am going to ...

Re: Great Reset.

What is "Great Reset" I have seen the saying mentioned a few time in different places from newspapers some advertising outside and in solcial media - what is being given a Great Reset and reset to what? Is it just another government slogan like "Build Back Better"? Don’t forget the need for “levell...

Its about time they stopped selling fireworks in shops - and organised events limited to just visual shows with no banging fireworks, we have spent the last Four years going through hell with our little dog in pieces due to all the bangs from fireworks. In our area we have the added problem of seem...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

My personal worry is not for now but what it point to in the future. Governments seem utterly unable to listen to science in most of the world - even when there is an immediate danger (Covid) When the stakes are much much higher (climate change) but the worst consequences are down the track I'd say...

Great video Tommy. Thanks for sharing. I watched the whole thing, the last “interviewee” says it all really.

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?

So the EU was incapable of striking a deal yet they still did. They also have trade deals with countries across the globe so it may be a bit of a moot point. I admit that it is difficult to get all 28 or 27 member states to sign off on something, but then those democratically elected heads of state...

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?

Some interesting thoughts on Broadcasting House (Radio 4) this morning which gave an insight into why so many voted to leave. They interviewed the Canadian envoy who was heavily involved in developing the EU/Canada deal; he ended up reporting to his PM that "The EU was incapable of making an agreem...

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator Returns

I have had mixed experience with the new sim. I upgraded my gaming rig to an SSD hard drive and installed 32gb of ram to replace the 8gb installed. I downloaded the software having taken out a subscription to Xbox game pass. The sim although fantastic looking was virtually unplayable with sub 20 FPS...

Re: US Dept of Defense establishes Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, 4th Aug 2020

It does seem to me that the US authorities are starting to take a more mature approach to this subject than hitherto. The recent much publicised official footage shot by US Navy pilots suggests that there is a small minority of reports that cannot be readily explained.

Currently working from home and spending all day on the laptop. Taken to listening to a Philip Glass selection from Alexa. I find it great to listen to and work at the same time.
