Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread

Glastonbury festival cancelled. Think that gives you an Idea of what to expect... .....no stage and singers this year? Indeed - more to-do with the infrastructure to support the event, less the headline acts. But If one of the worlds largest music festivals is unable to proceed, what chance do othe...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Are the people who were going on about the death rate being massively reduced still kicking around? Still banging the "boris is doing the best he can" drum? Complicit. I don't remember seeing much of this. I agree there have been some significant failures within government, but to understand why th...

Cyberpunk. Definitely has issues, but nowhere near the scale documented in my experience.

Playing on the Series X and largely enjoying my time.

Very enjoyable watch, must have taken quite a bit of work!

I use DCS for something similar.

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread

Hundreds of thousands of people attending RIAT won't happen this year - It will take time to scale large events back to pre-pandemic levels. IF this year goes ahead, I suspect it will be a much smaller crowd. In addition, will events be able to run in the midst of a large scale, desperate and much n...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread

After last night's Whitty and Boris show, I have been left with the feeling that although they are trying to give us good news (a vaccine is here, hooray), they always underline that good news with future terror - Mr Whitty making it quite clear that even with a vaccine, next winter (just 10 months...

Can't get to get excited, when the event may not go ahead.

If the plan is to push on, then let's hope it's deliverable and communicated at the earliest possibility.

The Times newspaper are tonight reporting that Boris could announce a new National Lockdown on Monday, coming in to force 2 days later.

It's also on the front of their headline for tomorrow.

Re: Possible format for RIAT2021

Would be helpful (towards the end of the year) to hear what the plan is for 2021 - with everything going on, it is unlikely (imo) a show like this is possible. Myself included rolled over tickets for next year, as nobody knew what would happen (but also cautiously hoping things would improve). But t...

So Duxford can still have 13k crowd so long as mixing in groups is limited to 6.

BBC website: Johnson, speaking at a Downing Street news conference, also said pilot events in September would be restricted to 1,000 fans with social distancing measures in place.

I seem to have a problem getting 'active pause' to work - I've done a rebind, but nothing happens when I use it in the sim. Other that that, I'm addicted.

Thoughts are based on the 1st podcast, but I enjoyed it. The relaxed conversation was fine and I particularly enjoyed the brief discussion on classic Jet aircraft (primarily the Hunter and Canberra) which seem to have suffered horrendously, since the Shoreham accident - you can, sadly, understand wh...

I would just like to see RIAT happen next year, that’s all Iam hoping for! Absolutely. Despite the email a few weeks ago offering some reassurance that the focus is on 2021, so many reports from those within the science, health and community sector in the last few weeks paint a rather depressing pi...

Re: RIAT 2020

From next week the Government will introduce new legislation banning mass gatherings to prevent the spread of Covid-19. There is no specific time frame for this, but logic would suggest that would curtail the majority of airshows this summer.

Re: RIAT 2020

All BADA have done is tell us what we already know and that information has come from the Government - airshows will not be immune from cancellation. One only needs to look at the large number of sporting events now being cancelled to see where this is likely going to go. The Government press confer...
