Re: Possible format for RIAT2021

Would be helpful (towards the end of the year) to hear what the plan is for 2021 - with everything going on, it is unlikely (imo) a show like this is possible. Myself included rolled over tickets for next year, as nobody knew what would happen (but also cautiously hoping things would improve). But t...

So Duxford can still have 13k crowd so long as mixing in groups is limited to 6.

BBC website: Johnson, speaking at a Downing Street news conference, also said pilot events in September would be restricted to 1,000 fans with social distancing measures in place.

It's off. Boris said no events until the beginning of October.

I seem to have a problem getting 'active pause' to work - I've done a rebind, but nothing happens when I use it in the sim. Other that that, I'm addicted.

Re: The UK Airshow Review Podcast

Thoughts are based on the 1st podcast, but I enjoyed it. The relaxed conversation was fine and I particularly enjoyed the brief discussion on classic Jet aircraft (primarily the Hunter and Canberra) which seem to have suffered horrendously, since the Shoreham accident - you can, sadly, understand wh...

Re: RIAT 2020 - CANCELLED

I would just like to see RIAT happen next year, that’s all Iam hoping for! Absolutely. Despite the email a few weeks ago offering some reassurance that the focus is on 2021, so many reports from those within the science, health and community sector in the last few weeks paint a rather depressing pi...

What's the best headtracking system? Track IR isn't readily available these days. Tobii Eye Tracker looks interesting?

Re: RIAT 2020

From next week the Government will introduce new legislation banning mass gatherings to prevent the spread of Covid-19. There is no specific time frame for this, but logic would suggest that would curtail the majority of airshows this summer.

A very simple answer, yes. Airshows are not immune from the virus.

Re: RIAT 2020

All BADA have done is tell us what we already know and that information has come from the Government - airshows will not be immune from cancellation. One only needs to look at the large number of sporting events now being cancelled to see where this is likely going to go. The Government press confer...

It's very likely this years RIAT could be cancelled, due to the Coronavirus. The Government advice is the worst of it is expected by June/July. What measures are being put in place should this happen? Refunds? Safe-guarding next years event etc?

Re: Your favourite UK airshow 2019?

Absolutely nothing. Airshow events in the UK are in permanent decline and I can't see that changing soon. Every show year-on-year is so uninspiring and predictable, RIAT is now always the same with the exception of a handful of aircraft and the genuine excitement of older aircraft at smaller shows a...

Maybe they'll employ someone who can indulge in some 'out of the box blue sky thinking' who'll turn it back into an airshow not an arts-and-crafts fairground...… Probably not. The UK airshow scene is in permanent decline - the same shows book the same stuff year on year. RIAT or not, it's as boring...

With it being Monday - Friday only this year will there be any tickets available for any of those days. Ideally, Mon - Wed? How strict is the vetting process for those wanting to attend, with no industry connections? I'd be willing to pay, if that makes any difference. Just not a Farnborough ransom,...
