Re: FRIAT 2023 ticket increases discussion
I've been doing FRIAT since 2012 but this is the first time I simply can't come. The cost of accommodation for the whole six days is just too much plus the increased ticket cost. I usually did 2 or 4 days. I used to tolerate the knobheads sticking a camera lens in my face and a cramped grandstand se...

Even the birds are going on strike now?Brevet Cable wrote: ↑Mon 29 Aug 2022, 2:01 pmAs a quick aside, and not involving the RAFAT, how many bird-strikes were there at this year's RIAT?
Would I be correct in thinking 2 ?

Re: Time for a new UK military airshow?
Culdrose will never happen again. The variable weather meant that too many shows were write offs and there’s no interest in taking a chance with future events. So I’ve been told.Professor_M wrote: ↑Mon 22 Aug 2022, 3:44 pm
If all this can be achieved, I'd hope to see Culdrose and Waddington return soon after.

Re: FRIAT 2023 ticket increases discussion
The cost is a bit of a worry for me, but I don't spend big on many other events and it gives the wife a break from me for a few days :-) My biggest concern is being sat next to the same a***holes from 2019. It was a family of three who seemed to have little interest in the show beyond slagging off t...

From the latest email: As we look forward to our 50th anniversary in 2021, we're pleased to introduce 1971, our new hospitality upgrade that combines contemporary food and drink with hints of 1970s style. In response to high demand for our First Class Lounge (nearly sold out on Saturday) we have de...

Re: RIAT 2019 - Issues
When the A400M came over with those four other little planes (yes I know blades) I didn't even bother picking my camera up or watching them come over - I was more interested in watching a butterfly on the grass flying about - I think that sums them up. Bit harsh! But they could have done more than ...

Have to say that I enjoyed the flying program, shame about Friday but we got an E-3A flypast so it wasn't all bad. Kudos to the A400M display team for stepping up when it seemed that nothing was going to be flying. On Saturday and Sunday the highlights for me were the Mig-21 and Flanker, F-18's wer...

Re: FRIAT packages 2019
Quick question for previous FRIATters, how do you get those FRIAT lanyards to hold your passes in? They look nice and substantial compared to that little chain they send out each year. I remember seeing a few people with them, but wasn't sure how you got them as they weren't on the souvenir stand.
