Re: Airshows 2012: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...
The good side for me - The Korean display team total class , XH558 , Cosford where else could you see a running Jaguar and a Vc10 flypast this year The F4 at Waddo on the Friday did a couple of flypasts before landing and was worth the £5 to get in just to see that. The only downside was the few idi...

Re: XM603
Health and safety stopped the work being done to keep XM603 runable as it had fuel kept in tanks - this at an active airfield you simply can't make it up

Nikon Sigma lens for sale - auto foucs not working
I have a Sigma lens for sale - Nikon fit 75-300mm the autofoucs has stopped working however apart from that the lens is in good condtion. Might be suitable for someone who would know how to fix it, cost £150 when new - will sell for £30 - would prefer the buyer to collect or I could deliver it. I li...

Totaly disgraceful that this situation has come about Bomber Command veterans do not deserve to be shown such a lack of respect.

Re: Avspecs Mossie FLIES!
Oh Anna, do simmer down. I was merely remarking on an excellent, photogenic display by the pilot in the Mosquito, and how British warbird pilots could learn from it. Yes, we have excellent pilots, but we don't always see the aircraft displayed to their best advantage. I don't think anyone would arg...

The lack of something can have a really negative effect on the consumers experience and leave them questioning the value for money of the ticket price.

Re: Lancaster in payday loan tv advert
While of course we all want to see Just Jane getting a funding boost this goes beyond that. This advert was put on youtube and I understand first shown on telly within days of the bomber command memorial being unveiled. There is a time for light hearted jokes and that was certainly not the time, I f...

Re: Airbase moving to Newquay
Given the problems in getting an airworthy Shack over here for a few displays I dread to think what the CAA would make of any plans to fly this one anywhere one off ferry flight or otherwise. I'm not one of the mob who will take any chance to have a go at the CAA but I really dont see this being all...

Re: Validation
I'm confused I was under the understanding that before any civil acts could display at an airshow a DA was needed and to get the said DA the display must be flown 3 times (Not in the same flight) at least one of the said displays must be in front of a CAA display examiner. Have I got it wrong or hav...

I was thinking of the Mig 27 coming over just for the airshow really a very very long shot I admit but its the only remote chance of seeing on at an airshow in the UK I think.

Re: Food costs at airshows, diminishing returns
I have to agree prices and quality of airshow food in general seems rubbish to say the least, I often take a packed lunch to airshows now in the past it was not so bad but these dayss I just dont want to spend well over £5 for a hot dog and can of pepsi or over £3 for a coffee and a muffin. I tend t...

The best "memorial" is often what takes place in the sky, the Tornado missing man at Fairford and the Reds phoneix formation being a couple of examples.

If India come back to Waddo again then a Mig 27 might be possible, but thats the only chance and its a very very small chance at that.

Re: Airbase moving to Newquay
While I hope of course this move works out for me it makes little sense, how many people would want to go to Newquay to visit an avation museum and how many people who may be there on holiday would visit. I'm sure it will get tourists and holidaymakers visisting but how many of them will become long...

QinetiQ have already made their policies on public outings quite clear, ask VL, Waddo and RIAT...
The lack of QinetiQ at these shows is down to an insurance issue nothing more nothing less.

Re: Waddington 2012 - Thoughts?
I did the 2 arrival days plus Saturday for the main show, my thoughts. Good points was the very well spaced out static display and the content in the static the various aew type aircraft along with the Hercs and the Sauid Hawk being highlights of the static, the F4 was good to see in the static and ...
