Re: Airfix 1/72 Avro Shackleton MR.2

From Chris Ashworth's book on the mighty Shackleton. Shackleton's went to overall Dark Sea Grey from 1955. My model is depicted as she was in 1956.

Thank you Gent's I really enjoyed it, a real labour of love. I'm sure my Grandfather would have approved casting his Warrant Officer eyes over the model.

The Lancaster should be airworthy in the next 5 years. This means the other projects which are waiting in the wings will get their turn at restoration. I was there yesterday and the Blenheim projects are with the Hampton, not in the main hangar.
Hampton? Oh you mean the Hampden!

Excellent set of images from my first RIAT. If memory serves wasn't this the year the Italian G.222 suffered a nose wheel collapse on landing after its display slot?

Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk.I

Finished this last week, and the first of my Battle of Britain 80th theme. Typical Tamiya kit, mistakes of my own doing. The kit is in the markings of the aircraft flown by Pilot Officer (later Group Captain) Wilfred Duncan Smith DS0*, DFC**, AE of 611 ( West Lancashire) Sqn based at RAF Hornchurch ...

My rescue Cat Kassie. She was a rescue, as she was the runt of her litter no one wanted her, so I took her in. She's small for her age, she is 10 this year https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49534097856_3b7cecd4b9_b.jpg 74643690_3109837372421741_602379917862109184_n by Darren Greenwood , on Flickr

You're most welcome John, I hope you found the second article interesting? All cross-referenced with his log books. As you can tell the Shackleton holds a special place in my heart, so will be a few builds of the Shackleton to come at later dates. I've made a start, but not much to show yet.

Here's a link to the review of the kit with history of the MR.3 also https://dazjg1971.blogspot.com/2019/10/ ... -avro.html

And my article about the aircraft crewed by my late Grandfather, which includes some details on why I'm depicting this particular MR.3 https://myaviationandgeneralpictures.bl ... -late.html

I'll post images as I progress with the build.
