Re: FRIAT Stand Location 2025

Nots so much 'Friends' of the Royal International Air Tattoo these days, as 'massive inconvenience, although we welcome your money' at the Royal International Air Tattoo! As others have posted elsewhere, if you look at the prices it costs more to do the whole RIAT period ( Wednesday-Monday ) for no...

With the Snowbirds going to Oshkosh this year, you might be better off going there, might be what I end up doing.

Have a look at the Ian Allen trip that's going there this year, that should give you an idea of what else is in the area. Quite a few museums in the area and also possible to spot at CFB Trenton.

Re: RCAF100 - Airshow London v CIAS Toronto V Aero Gatineau

Pretty sure I read that the London Airshow is consistently rated as one of the best shows on the continent, but like Andy says, the ticket prices are extortionate for front row access, as you're paying for a car slot, rather than an individual. I did look into maybe going to this and the Gatineau sh...

Outstanding images as usual Nick, thoroughly enjoyed going through these :-) Good luck with 2024 :-) Thank you, good luck to you in 2024 too! Outstanding Nick from a great year (good job the Point Mugu security held on to your passport and Mr Older managed two let you know). Cheers Haha, I'd forgot...

Re: Jalfrezi's Year in Review 2023 (picture heavy)

Part 3, what can I say? A well-researched Itinerary with viable alternatives built-in. I do find the weather predictions there very accurate for an Island location. Credit to Tom for the various spotted 'Diversions' :sunglasses: Good choices throughout These shots are stunning! For anybody still wo...

Re: Jalfrezi's Year in Review 2023 (picture heavy)

The third and final part of my 'year in review' piece covers the amazing trip to Japan I took with Tom. This trip was 12 months in the planning and like all outdoor aviation activities, subject to the mercy of the weather. We had to be pretty fluid with our plans on this trip, due to weather forecas...

Great selection in parts 1 & 2. Looking forward to Pt 3. Also liking the contextual narrative that demonstrates even the most prepared plans don't always pay-off? Certainly enough here to warrant your efforts though! :sunglasses: Thanks! It's rare for things to go 100% to plan, but careful plan...

Re: Jalfrezi's Year in Review 2023 (picture heavy)

Part 2 of my YiR..... June saw my first trip to Italy for the Air Force's 100th anniversary airshow at Pratica di Mare. Obvious highlights for this were the Gina and the Starfighter. It wasn't cloudy this trip, however it was roasting hot! Friday was the spotters' day, I headed there with Sam and Da...

Jalfrezi's Year in Review 2023 (picture heavy)

Well, another year has come and gone and I've done a few of these 'Year in Review' posts over the years, so here's this year's. I'm going to do it slightly different this year, with one photo per day spent spotting or at airshows and I'll be spreading out this post over the next three days. My (avia...

Re: FRIAT 2024

They've had a standing order option for years and now have taken it away, that's a problem for quite a few people I expect. It's all well and good saying people have had from July to start saving, but they weren't aware they had to, as there was an installment option in previous years!

Re: UK Heritage Aviation Trust

Keep it civil and on topic, guys. We don't want another VTTS thread, thanks. For my two cents on UKHAT, they need to work on restoring the cockpit they have, maybe tow it to a few shows and drum up some interest that way. Holding out a begging bowl with nothing of note to show, so far, is going to r...

Is payment still by cheque? I've not been for a long time and have no way to get a cheque, my bank flat out doesn't do them! Yep, I haven't been for a few years either and was surprised to see there's still no options other than cheque or POs, surely bank transfer should be possible at the bare min...
