Cheers all.
Yes, it is number 4 to fly out of NZ (plus ground runner at Omaka). Good roundup at https://vintageaviationnews.com/warbird ... flies.html
It's due at Wanaka in a week and a half.

Re: Interesting Internet
I suppose for the moment it’s just an offering. If it’s as prohibitively expensive as you say, then it’ll fail anyway I guess. Memory is hazy, and I’ve not the time to look it up, but I thought the GKN factory closed down because Westland took the airframe production “in house”? They’ve recently se...

Re: Current aircraft being restored to flight
Lockheed L10A Electra c/n 1145, now ZK-AFD, flew for the first time yesterday at Ardmore here in NZ after a restoration begun in the late 1990s. I think this makes just two Electras flying worldwide? Gavin Conroy had a photo flight last week. Sadly the repost from NZ Warbirds didn't say that it wou...

Re: Interesting Internet
I imagine the primary reason that the spares/parts are being given away is that the ADF failed to track them correctly, so they are basically not certified for flight.

Update on Mosquito NZ2308 (and AvSpecs projects in general) under rebuild in Ardmore NZ. Almost all of the Avspecs team are currently working on the Mosquito, with just two of them on another project, so the workshop is a hive of Mossie activity. If the pace keeps up the aircraft should hopefully be...

Wings Over Wairarapa NZ 2023
This event was scheduled for 24-26 February 2023. Sadly the severe floods in the adjacent Hawkes Bay region using many required resources mean the show has been postponed until 24-26 November 2023. The unique feature of the show is the displays by Sir Peter Jackson's The Vintage Aviator collection. ...
