Beautiful result. I hope your brother was delighted with the model.
Thank you! He absolutely was. You should have heard him explaining to his seven year old son the consequences of touching it rather than looking at it.... in the interests of safety maybe I'd better make Max a 1:72 one!

1:32 BAe Hawk T1A 100 Squadron RAF

Some years ago my brother was fortunate enough to fly with 100 Squadron in XX194 and recently decided he would like a model of the aircraft to memorialise the event. I offered to provide the kit (Revell 1:32 Red Arrows Hawk) and some aftermarket (Xtradecal sheets for the specific aircraft and a mill...

Is there a walkway around each space to allow you to the facilities, or do you have to walk through other spaces thereby potentially contaminating them or being contaminated, or are the facilities closed? Therefore you have to bring a bottle/bucket/nappy or cross your legs for up to 9 hours. The we...

If you want to be really picky, the original looks like an unfilleted P51D. It would be unwise to make the modern representation fly less well just for verisimilitude though!

In Colorado and Wyoming (bear and cougar country) people go fishing with a forty-five openly on their hip. Age didn't seem to be a factor. Make of that what you will - my schoolteacher friend on the same birding trip was outraged, but it made sense to me. In some states in the Countryside if out du...

The information I want to see at the moment is where the thousand or so new daily infections are being picked up. Is it supermarkets by respiration or touch, DIY stores, garden centres, hospitals and so on? From track and trace there must be some indicators to help people self risk assess. Just as ...

Hi Chris, I liked your post, but it's taken me this long to sort some pictures of the model. It's a ship is it? Union Jacks are only found flying from masts.

so presumably it can't be pressed into military service if required with such a loud livery?

Plenty of people, me included, saw being part of the EU as a part of their identity. But that's changing. I don't like it, but I'll accept it and move on. I had a fairly close eye on ADSB Exchange on 10 June. First off I caught the two Apaches that had gone North-east the previous day coming back after overnighting away, perhaps at Wattisham. A Chinook was next in the worst weather of a generally pretty miserable day. Late on, a pair of Apaches that h...
