Re: Lynx (not the helicopter)
The Iberian Lynx is split from Eurasian Lynx these days so isn't the appropriate species to release into Britain. I believe there is a project running that does have ambitions to introduce Eurasian Lynx into the wild but I'm not sure what point it has reached. I'm not sure about Brown Bears in moder...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.
Just had an airliner go right over our town a little lower than usual, looked it up on Flight radar and it was the morning BA flight from Gatwick to Glasgow. Considering all the media coverage re staying at home, cycling 7 miles etc, who are the people on the plane? Are all of their journeys essent...

Re: Formula One 2021
What's the point then? Surely showing off the team's thinking on aerodynamics isn't tactically sound, or is the shape all smoke and mirrors too? Is the whole thing a pack of lies/misdirection?

Spiny - Thank you for the placing and comment. I often scuttle down to the West end of Farnborough after work, in autumn frequently because I haven't time to get anywhere else! A decent sunset makes it worth hanging about for an aeroplane to put in front of it.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.
I can't work out why the second dose figures are still going up if a decision has been made to suspend second doses until 12 weeks? I may have the answer to that. I half-caught a news item talking about a new finding that the size of the dose of the vaccine is such that one vial can be made to stre...

They can't go fast enough for me: I'm just coming out of my second dose of coronavirus having had it originally at the start of the pandemic. If I say it wasn't quite as bad the second time around I don't want to be misunderstood: I really, really do not want to have to go through it again so the so...

I knew the Aussies were pretty strict on their quarantine rules but this is a bit harsh. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-55660592 Meanwhile each winter, shorebirds in their millions head South from the whole of East Asia to winter on the beaches, estuaries, rivers, lakes and pools of Aus...

Re: Advice on connecting a compressor to an airbrush
The compressor and hose I have was able to connect directly to the Iwata airbrush I use. The Aztech I have needed an adapter to connect the airbrush to the hose. An email to air-craft.net or everythingairbrush might work. I'm sure they can help. Thank you very much Derek - much appreciated. Just th...

Is it one of these you need? https://www.air-craft.net/acatalog/Connector---1-8--BSP-P-to-Badger-SPA41200128_R.html That may well be the ideal thing for hose to brush - I just don't have a hose to fit the male end of the compressor. But the catalog that includes your suggestion seems to do hoses th...

Right, I've got the fengda version (far as I can tell) of the AS-186, the FD-186. Looking forward to using it! What I hadn't anticipated but should have, is that the screw thread on the end is a totally different size from any connection on my Badger airbrush.... what's the solution? The internet wa...

And actually, what we need is more policing of the guidelines to help those sightly deficient in brain cells understand them. You make an interesting ideological point. The purpose of Covid rules is to attempt to prevent the spread of the virus. This is best achieved by not coming into contact with...

You're meant to stay local, so don't get in your car and drive somewhere for a walk, it's not rocket science. I live on an urban council estate and don’t relish walking aimlessly round the streets for the next three months. There’s some fields and woodland a couple of miles away, so I’ll carry on g...

He’s so pathetic. This is proper third world tinpot stuff. There in black and white. He’s really little different to Bin Laden or David Koresh at this point. Terrific story, thanks for posting. The treatment the guy received once in the hands of the proper authorities follows much the pattern of others captured: initially poor treatment and being deliberately frightened, before meeting more sympathetic individuals. The bad cop-good cop approach. He was o...

With the new variant being more transmissible, have they changed the social distancing rules? If it's 50% more transmissible, then should it be 3 metres we keep apart? No, (a) because the transmissibility relates to it getting through the cell wall, not its physical properties including relationshi...

This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local are...
