Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Can anyone explain why the gov have been using Three word slogans - why Three words not Two or Four always Three. Why have the gov said Six people can meet up why not Five or Four or Seven - why Six. why do they sell eggs in 6s in the EU / UK / EAA when we are supposed to be metric? and also why ar...

"The remains of NZ2308's primary structure were in too perilous a condition to re-use, the only way of guaranteeing structural integrity would be to remanufacture the entire wooden airframe from scratch. Night time sewing machine runs (floodlit) I don't know why people find the quilt festival so funny. Yeah it's not my bag, but to each their own. (Might be a pun in there, not sure - no, hold on a minute, QUILTBAG means something else apparently...) Seriously, I don't think the words "fun" and "run"...

I'll also go with BUFFs for this one, one at RIAT last year and two currently at Fairford on deployment: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48451691701_29efc3fe29_h.jpg 20190720 (58)_60048_Boeing_B-52H_Stratofortress by John Dixon , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50330650536_ebac4671...

So you can’t simply expect people to take their contracted annual leave and simply stay at home and do nothing with it. It wont work. That's exactly what my NHS Trust is doing. If I have already booked leave and then can't go where I was intending they are refusing to cancel the booked leave. They ...

Duxford Sunday 30th August: Another 25 NHS flypasts today in 3 hours flying time. Has any Spitfire covered such a large part of the UK before ? A true epic when you consider the flight planning required and the demanding navigation from site to site. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50287649666_...

Pubs , shops and restaurant toilets are disgusting. Only half the cubicles and urinals open and those that are, are filthy. It seems the new normal is not to clean the toilets regularly. There will be a dysentery epidemic soon. Certainly not in our local, clean as a new pin. Biggest risk there is t...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.

How many other aircraft are active this year for them to book? Many operators are having ground insurance only and not flying their aircraft. The list basically consists of the ARCo/HFL-operated aircraft, plus BBMF and the Reds. I don't think any of the TFC stuff is serviced or has the approval to ...

1:48 633 Squadron Bristol Blenheim IV

After building a Hawk T1A for my brother I was pleased to get back to WWII and modelling aircraft representing the fictional 633 Squadron according to both the late F E Smith's novels and the RAF Museum's history, which is good on the early (pre-Mosquito) part though gravely in error later. What the...

Re: 48 Hour Photo Comp: Testing, Testing

Thank you very much Peter! I liked the EAP - the pale blue seemed chosen to be reminiscent of the prototype Spitfire K5054 and unencumbered by operational load it blazed around the sky pleasingly, having been sketched on a fag packet and assembled from Tornado spares box bits. I'll have a think and ...
