Almost certainly, as in a formation usually only one aircraft squawks, normally the lead.

Re: The UKAR politics thread
This is the most exhausting thing about Johnson. He drags everything on, like a toddler screaming and kicking. Grow a spine and go, FFS. It’s exhausting now and this country has problems for a leader to actually be getting on with. He’s like a bad smell in a lift. No, you can get out of a lift at a...

Re: War?
The life imprisonment of the Russian soldier who killed an unarmed Ukranian civilian (with several dozen more cases to follow) will hopefully make Russian forces think twice in their tactics. Russia is not taking over the country and freeing them (and neither is Ukraine doing deals with convicted c...

Here it is. Categoric. He lied to Parliament. https://twitter.com/bbcpolitics/status/1468563160827568130?s=21&t=mI0GFXinKv4UbXk37UMhnQ The punishment for lying to Parliament is resignation. He’ll get away with it, of course, he always does. But hopefully everyone can now see him for the liar th...

... And a Mercedes G-Wagon on static, apparently.... It'll be the captured Argentinian one I'm guessing. Good to see outside, together with the other Falklands themed stuff. One was still the Command Sec vehicle in 1987 when I was there, though it died for lack of spares during my tour. Mercedes po...

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
My aircraft tastes are fairly cosmopolitan, and like others I too like trainers and helicopters in the mix. And I have been known to enjoy a day at the fence at Valley, and in the past, dare I say it, Linton-on-Ouse to watch and log Tucanos! So Andyph certainly doesn't speak for me. Not sure I went...

Re: Apaches x3
Just had a flight of 3 x Apaches fly over Basingstoke at 14.46 heading eastbound, following a singleton, not a usual occurrence in these parts. Mick They went SW this morning as two pairs, caught them over my garden both ways, I suspect the 3 + 1 return means somebody has been doing Jubilee flypast...

Re: Red Arrows - Seven aircraft display 2022
I’ve seen plenty of 8 aircraft displays but not 7. The 2012 season was a 7-ship display, as has been mentioned. Re the 7/8-ship, I know that they have displayed with 8, but it usually leaves a very noticeable gap in the formation, I was wondering if they perhaps needed an odd number when working up...

Re: Interesting Internet
I always understood that the Reds also do an amount of training in a 'loser strategy' i.e. having to practice for a short handed formation should one go tech upon departure, or whilst in transit etc. It pays to be prepared. I wonder if that's what is being practiced here. Always good to see a decen...

Re: B-24 Liberator in the UK in 1982?
So here's something that's been bugging me for a while (nearly 40 years in fact :astonished:) - back in the early 80s, when I was a regular planespotter, I remember seeing what appeared to be a B-24 Liberator(!), in WW2-era USAAF olive drab/neutral gray colours, flying in the vicinity of Edinburgh ...
