Re: Another One Bites the Dust [747 Retirement]

I was at LHR two weeks ago and thought there were four 747's left. What has happened to the penultimate pair? Also, is Kemble confirmed as the destination?

Re: RAF Brize Norton ZZ336

Thanks for location. I know there is a sign partway up that says you can't drive any further but is it generally accepted to park just before that - near the gates to the industrial compound opposite the old pillbox?

Re: Peter Teichman's thoughts

http://johnniehoulton.corranashworth.info/ suggests that the "first kill" was decided by HQ, so this might pin that down: https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C508484 This is the actual combat report. It seems surprising though that there were no claims until the third sortie of the ...

In fact, I have never noticed the ID before but the lack of transparency would affect everybody, not just me. As for the cancellation, the word "we" appears in his/her earlier post!

If you speak with authority, please state what that authority is. "We" is insufficient if the reader does not know who "we" are. The staff have already made this point to everyone. I really don't know why they won't enforce it.

They are very clear that the Museum is currently closed with no info on re-opening. If the new owners already have a base there, perhaps they will understand (even enjoy) what goes on with the fast taxi days.

A reader should not be expected to search for basic information about a post. Using a search engine may throw up the wrong context anyway. They should only n...
