Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?

Another way forward is to revoke Article 50, bail out our sinking ship before it goes under and plan our next move in light of our recent experiences in this matter

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?

FYI Possibly already know, this from a BBC webpage. In December, the European Court of Justice ruled that the UK can unilaterally revoke Article 50 of the Treaty of the European Union. This means the UK can decide to stay in the EU without the consent of the 27 other member states. Few MPs have ment...

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?

Interesting to note perhaps? A friend just phoned to tell me that he had signed but even after about an hour he hadn't had an email More vicar? Surely, once info about the petition is widely known, both leavers and remainders who are concerned about being on the same sinking ship will call for a hal...

Slightly off topic but how many of the regular posters about this subject have any experience of living & working in any part of Europe other than the UK?
Thank you

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?

Speaking as an "Idiot", there is still an option to revoke Article 50; wait until the country and their representatives have decided their position after an election then act upon a more informed decision. The Establishment make a mistake in requesting Article 50 before having an acceptabl...

Doesn't it depend upon your attitude to life? Three in the air at one time, makes a cup half full at a time when we are nearing a desert Keep snapping whilst you can. (I did try for a vic formation but the little devils wouldn't stay in place)

Re: IMPORTANT - Future of UKAR

FYI. I hope this post will be of use to those making decisions. So, I powered up my tablet, went to airshows and started skimming through to find info about next year's airshows. I take a look at this site perhaps once or twice a week at this time of year, more frequently just prior to the airshow s...

My guess would be F-35 "A" version. The 'a' cannot be seen due to the stealth capability.

Re: RAF Scampton Air Show 2017

To expand on my above rumour. Rhymes Field does not enter into the equation. Please consult a map. There is a crash gate at the 04 end, to the east of the runway centreline. If a line is drawn from there to the A1500 (ie perpendicular to the road) the field(s) to the east of the line would be the we...

Re: RAF Scampton Air Show 2017

This thread seems to dying for wont of a rumour or two, so I thought to start one myself. The owner of the field at the 04 end is contemplating opening the field(s) for parking. Access/egress from the A1500. The field owner at the other end has not yet considered the possible use if his field(s). T...

Fineshade is a good place to see Red Kites, see m If you are driving on the A1, Stamford most days between 1100 & 1400hrs pull off at the Empingham Road exit and park looking towards the town There will be at least one and quite often two very low (on Saturday one came over at rooftop height). T...

Slightly off thread; Old Warden/Shuttleworth's collection of old aircraft is located near " Biggles wade ". :cuppa:

Anyone recall Sgt. Braddock in the Rover?

Good luck with the display.

Re: Poll: Reasons why you chose to give Duxford a miss

This thread has been both amusing and informative for me. A little heated at times but everyone, in my opinion, has an equal entitlement to post an few thoughts. Useful to consider the viewpoint of aircraft enthusiasts who live miles from any airshow venue(s). I miss the Harriers, Tornados, Red Arro...

Re: Poll: Reasons why YOU chose to give Duxford a miss

I could have re-organised a major gardening project to allow time this w/end but being "forced" to go into the airfield by the field closures was the deciding factor. So one ticket income lost to the IWM. Death or injury by display aircraft doesn't concern me as there seems to be more like...

A light aircraft at about 2000' has just finished off a series of " high energy manoeuvres " with a roll.

Only over a small group of houses called Langham. Safety first.

Re: Grange Rd Duxford fences and closure notice - pics attac

Dan, your post reminds me of the story told to me by a colleague in the BC forest. We were cutting our way to a crash site and I asked about bears. "It's ok, I'm fitter than you & can run faster! ". Just wait until you come up against a 'bored security man in a high visibility jacket' ...

"So... what aircraft have been booked, and what's the weather going to be like?" Asks skyflash Possibly RAFAT ? Addition after a bout of gardening. The KingAir would be very nice and different from the normal fast jets. A flypast of military helicopters from all NATO; police & (air amb...
