Re: Race Day - 6th October
Enjoyed yesterday despite the weather. I've been going for many years as I am local and I have never seen the Gladiator displayed as well as that before. One question though, the Mew Gull. Last Sunday I was at the railway station in Biggleswade and I saw the Mew Gull in the distance. I then didn't h...

Never mind. Was nice to see and hear across the fields on a warm Summer evening. Not a regular visitor. Looking forward to Sunday's show.

Prop and jet Thrapston
Just saw what was possibly P-51 flying in formation with a jet possibly Provost. Hope they are practicing for a UK show - what a great sound. Can anyone confirm the types?

Re: BBMF Biggleswade
Definitely BBMF. I got a photo or two and it was tracking on FR24. I suspect a familiarisation flight for the flypast on Saturday, but odd that it didn't seem to buzz the airfield iteslf.

BBMF Biggleswade
A little intrigued as to why the BBMF Hurricane was buzzing around the fields behind my house tonight. I though practice display for Shuttleworth, but the circuits were over the fields just north. Never the less after the Airlander last night it was good to have something of interest up and about.

Thanks and yes, I went to see the seals and got the Herc dropping flares all morning. This was the last pass to dump the rest.

Re: Fly Navy II - 4 June 2017
Last year's show was a highlight no doubt - especially pleasing as I only live a mile or so away. A Sea Fury would be great, but fingers crossed for the weather. There's a saying in Biggleswade that if you need a long term forecast on when it is going to rain months ahead look at the Shuttleworth Ai...

Spotted this on test at Cranfield. The bulge appears to be a new addition, anyone know what it is?
Figured out how to insert the picture now.
PS Hope this works, I don't usually post pictures.

Re: Fly Navy Day - 5th June 2016
As a local (Walking Distance) to OW, I have seen a lot of displays over the years and today's was up there with the best. Wildcat, Corsair and Bearcat tore up the place - although could have done without the whoops from the people behind me, yes they did get fairly low, but no need to whoop. Vixen s...

Re: Gnat crash at CarFest
Having seen the three ship display at Culdrose on Thursday and having watched the Hunter display both there and today at my local (Shuttleworth) I feel a great sense of sadness of this tragic incident. I have a great admiration for the dedication and skills involved in keeping classic aircraft alive...

Re: Season Premiere Airshow (commemorating VE day) - 3rd May
Crowd numbers pretty good. Parking next to the playpark was full. My highlights - Late mark 109. Worth entrance fee on its own, Nimrod last pass, Jumpin Jaques and the Comet. Well worth the last minute decision to go. I also sense a bit more determination to make things happen this year, so while th...

Re: Proper Low Merlin
See my post from yesterday, just down the A1 in Biggleswade there have been Chinooks, Lynx's and Merlins much of this week at low level. Some carrying underslung loads, heading WNW and returning empty and lower SSE ish.

Anyone know what the almost constant flow of choppers over mid beds is all about? Jeeps etc being carried East and returning empty to the West.

Spitfire over Cambridge
Just interested which late model spit was over Cambridge today at 15:00. Too distant for a good shot, but has letter C on the starboard side. Thought it was either BBMF PR19 or Hangar 11, but what I can see from other shots of these, it must be another - maybe from Duxford.
Thanks.
Thanks.
