To be even clearer, it's not because US forces operate on Zulu time, it's because it's the (aviation) shorthand for Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) (not, by the way, GMT). As I gather, it's actually a case of Sanicole being prepared to pay the USAF for the displays where RIAT aren't. Certainly last year's USAF F-35 demo was a decent display by American standards, certainly all the hype and bluster about it was over-egged. It was an average display by European standard...

Remains to be seen what its location is, but perhaps I did naively think they'd wait at least one year before filling that spot with an expensive enclosure for appearance's sake.
