EA-6B Prowler Farewell USMC VMAQ-2
Earlier this year, the United States Marine Corps retired the venerable EA-6B Prowler. The last squadron to fly it was VMAQ-2 "Death Jesters" out of MCAS Cherry Point in North Carolina. With the last Prowlers out of service with the USMC, this was also the end of the Prowler as a whole sin...

Chicago Airshow 2019
The Chicago airshow was last month, and took place on the lakefront as usual. I only went on the practice day. The Red Arrows were the special guest however they did not fly on the practice day so I don't have any shots of them unfortunately. 1 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48703374222_5cae80b...

Some of my photos from the show, a few weeks ago! This were actually the same F-22/F-35 which flew at Oshkosh that same weekend. The landing shots and a couple of takeoffs were at the fence. The rest of the takeoff shots and the taxiing were on base.

Red Flag 18-3 and Nellis AFB
Red Flag 19-3 is about to begin but nevertheless, since I am a bit behind on photos, here are my results from 3 days around Nellis AFB almost a year ago for Red Flag 18-3. It was hot, the light can be tricky sometimes, and especially the numerous runway switches make things difficult and hectic. But...

Re: Private MiG-23 in the USA
Thanks everyone for the comments! Absolutely amazing. What is it used for? That jet exhaust looks a bit bashed up.... Nothing really, just private flying. Stunning set! Great plane! The main gear construction is said to be the most complicated ever created in aviation history. Well, the legend is th...

Private MiG-23 in the USA
Last July, I was lucky to see this MiG-23UB flying in Texas. There are only a few flyable MiG-23s in the USA, and they fly quite rarely. I believe at the time of the photos, this was the only one airworthy. As the MiG-23 is one of my all time favorite jets, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. The je...

Rockford airport fly-in 2018
Every year in the spring (April or May), Rockford airport, about an hour outside of Chicago, hosts a small fly-in. Usually this involves mainly a lot of L-39s and other jet warbirds. Last year, this was what showed up. A lot of the L-39s are actually based at Rockford anyway, as well as the MiGs, so...

CVN-77 embark for Chesapeake 2018 with French Rafales
In April/May 2018, the French Navy brought 12 Rafale Ms and one E-2C Hawkeye to the USA. Initially they flew out of NAS Oceana for familiarization. Following that they commenced flying from CVN-77 USS George HW Bush. It's not very often French Rafales operate from US carriers so it was a unique oppo...

F-104 Starfighters Aerospace at Kennedy Space Center Florida
Inside the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, one can find eight F-104s in immaculate condition. Not all are airworthy but it is still an impressive sight. During my visit, there were no flights planned. The guys at Starfighters Aerospace were nice enough to pull out one of the F-104s, I chose the bla...
