Re: German Typhoons beat USAF F-35s in WVR combat

In a gun fight I would have been surprised if Typhoons hadn't beaten F-35s to be honest ... If you’re in a WVR dogfight with a specialist dogfighting aircraft using cannons in your stealthy BVR interceptor, then something has seriously gone wrong with your mission. ... OK, but shouldn't the F-35 pi...

Re: Photographic technique

Just thought of a great idea - VF based image stabilisation via a switch on the lens that goes from Lens to Viewfinder to help with shake, often the issue is not with the final image but keeping the image in the VF still enough to follow and track an object especially if you are using just the cent...

RIAT for a change

Having spent the whole week at RIAT this year, I think I may have been one of the very few people that genuinely enjoyed the Friday, I had good fun trying to make the most of the weather and messy static park. Anyway, here is a selection of photos from a very enjoyable week (or at least a selection ...

Re: RIAT 2019

You can be sarcastic about it all you like, the PR has been a talking point all through the build up (Too which I have been supportive) but when having they're having to amend there own social media updates (which are primarily there to sell tickets) then this does not bode well for them at all. Pe...

Re: RIAT 2019 wish list

https://m.facebook.com/Scramblemagazine/posts/2876429159050266 Well this is disappointing, so close to RIAT.... Especially when these aircraft are on many peoples wish lists... Surely the dates are perfect if there was to be an appearance at RIAT? They wouldn't sit about in the static when they're ...

Re: RIAT 2019

Agreed, I personally think they look great. It's two specially (S)painted Harriers. What is there to moan about? I think some people wont be happy until their own face is on the side of a specially restored TSR-2. Just when I thought it couldn't get any uglier....... The weird white thing, not the ...

Wow... some British guy who went to the space station in a Russian rocket. He's not quite Al Worden! If you don't think someone who has been to the space station would be interesting to talk to, you must be an incredibly dull individual. Whilst not exactly an exciting addition on its own, belittlin...

The first mission is a great co-op mission made by the guy who did the excellent (in my opinion) museum relic campaign for the Sabre and Mig-15. Its a selection of missions flyable in practically any aircraft, would be great fun for a UKAR flight.

Count me in for a UKAR ground looping session.

Re: Whelford End - spotting from pavement being blocked for

To a large enough proportion of people £55 is too much money for them, that would feed a couple for a week, also many people (even if they could afford the ticket price) may not be able to plan in advance, as thier life may go from day today. This makes it akward as if they were able to travel a di...
