I Mine arrived yesterday, too I now have several of these, previously I have had them professionally framed however this is getting quite costly. Does anyone on here use an online or sort of DIY service for framing? Or, is there an 'off the shelf' frame that does the job? I frame them myself..usuall...

Re: Airlines and heavy equipment
It is a good idea to get a photographers vest so you can, if need be, transfer stuff to your pockets at the check-in. You can't be stopped from carrying stuff about your person. Then you can cynch the straps down on the back pack to make it 'under size'.

There are several ways, depending which software you use. Personally I use an app called iWatermark Pro which is available for Mac/Windows & iPhone/iPad.

Thanks for the help, one last question: from the beach/esplanade are we shooting almost straight into the sun (if it's out
)?

Re: Eastbourne from Beachy Head
I haven't been to Eastbourne for some years. Am hoping to go on Friday and was thinking of Beachy Head, however after reading the pros and cons here I am now undecided! Can anyone convince me of the best option? Given that I will have one day there I hoped to get some decent shots of both Lancs, the...

Re: Compatible inkjet cartridges
I got mine from these people http://www.cityinkexpress.co.uk Be warned they are a bit fiddly initially, be prepared to get very dirty hands installing the cartridges and bleeding the air from the system but once its installed and running properly sit back and think of the amount of money you'll be ...

Re: Compatible inkjet cartridges
I use a continuous ink system, it involves having tanks of ink sat next to my printer with pipes leading from those tanks to the cartridges inside the printer, I print a lot of images mainly in A3+ size and my printing costs have been vastly reduced! Worth considering if you do do a lot of printing...

Re: Lens help needed
I have the 70-200 F4L non-is and the 300 F4l the results I'm now getting with both are, as I said, loads better. This is, perhaps, shown best when used on my 'spare camera', 450D. Previously I wasn't really using this much as the lower pixel count obviously gives a smaller image, theoretically poore...

Re: Laptop spec advice for photo editing
Nearly three years ago I bought a Macbook Pro, yes a lot of money However it never needs rebooting and does everything that can be thrown at it I have to use Windows based laptops in my work for diagnostic programs etc and they are nothing but a PITA. It's worth trying scrumpymacs.co.uk they are ver...

Re: Canon 1000d error message
I think the answer lies in your question.... Auto mode, there are not many functions that can be selected therein. You need to be in one of the other modes such as AV, TV etc to select the functions.
Probably not an error at all

Copied below is my reply to the post on FC: 'I found similar results with my 7D and almost gave up with it! However I have persevered and am now very pleased with it. I shoot mainly in AV with auto ISO (limited to 1600), spot metering, 19 point autofocus points, between ⅓ and 1 stop overexposure, tr...

Re: Duxford D-Day Anniversary show
I'm planning going tomorrow coming from M11 southbound. Does the park & ride at junction 11 work well or should I plan on parking at Duxford. Thanks in advance. I've used the park and ride before - albiet from the station. Getting in was a doddle, getting out was a total bunfight but probably s...

Re: Northolt Nightshoot XVIa
Northolt events are akin to Steam Railway Photographic Charters - the opportunity to photograph kit in a unusual setting, often with rarer machines on show. You dont usually get much change out of 50 quid for one of those events so I reckon Phil, Lee and the guys do us a great deal. And for a good ...

Thanks for the comments. I was experimenting all night with exposure, I have other shots at brighter exposure. Also tried different lenses, it is all a learning curve, just pleased to get some sharp images!
