Re: First F35s to Marham 5th June
The RAF said that are looking at a 50/50 split sim to actually flying on F-35. Still should mean a increase in movements when 207 Squadron arrive from July 2019. Tornado movements at Marham is roughly 10 a day at the moment. 13 of the 20 at Marham have been active in the last month or so I have to ...

Re: Is it time to disband the RAF?
The f35 are going to Marham due to noise restrictions at Yeovilton Do you have a source for that? And does that infer that F35 movements into Yeovilton will be restricted or otherwise ruled out? Some years ago the MOD carried out an Environmental Impact Survey at Yeovilton to see if the F35 could b...

Re: MoD says 2017 'Year of the Navy'
I can see once all the Tornados have gone from Marham, the Navy moving there F35s to Yeovilton. An environmental impact study took place at Yeovilton several years ago and it was decided that the F35 could not be based at VL due to the noise, even louder than the Sea Harrier and the increase in the...

Re: Royal Navy and Sea Kings
Yes, there are eleven Merlin airframes that have not been upgraded to HM.2 or written off. One of them is being used as the trials aircraft for Crowsnest, while the others are stored at Shawbury and Culdrose (and one I believe at Boscombe Down). I have no doubt that those airframes have been used a...

Re: Farewell Old Friend - Final RN Lynx flight, 17 March 201
Nice set Thanks Stu. There must be a few Lynx to remain at Yeovilton for ground training like they did with some of the Sea Kings?? To be honest, I didn't realise there still Sea Kings at Yeovilton, so I can't really second guess about that happening with the Lynx No Sea Kings left at VL other than...

Thanks for the info guys. Was really hoping that Yeovilton would get a couple of squadrons . Will have to plan some trips to deepest Norfolk on coming years then. Some years ago the MOD carried out an environmental impact study at Yeovilton with a view to basing the F35B's here, this found that due...
