Re: AIRPOWER22 - Zeltweg, Austria
Limited info on the Spotters-pack so far. Who can enlighten me? - What locations are good? - Is it possible to move around during the day? If so how easy is it? - How is the sun? - How is the backdrop from the different locations? - Are some good for helicopters but bad for jets and voce versa? Is t...

A heads up for those staying on the Strip. Driving back to your hotel is going to be a nightmare due to the marathon.

Re: NAS El Centro Airshow - Saturday 14th March 2020
Was there this year. Decent show but be aware of the desert heat. This year was a warm show so lots of heat haze. Expect a few warbirds and most likely some of the following; F-86, Mig-15, T-33, and/or L-39. Vicky Benzing usually shows up as well. This year there was no F-18 display only a couple of...

Re Viggen. Not it’s homefield as it’s runways is reviceiving some much needed TLC. The SK version has smaller fuel tanks so needs the drop tank to make the trip. Can’t speak for Viggen but Gripen does not suffer any significant reduction in aerodynamics due to a drop tank. It frequently displays wit...

Does anyone need if you're able to get out from Skaryszewska during the display? I'm planning to take a flight back home Sunday night so will have to leave around 4pm.

The Huion H610 is a cheaper alternative that works almost as well. I'm satisfied with mine and have no plans on upgrading to the Wacom.

Nordic Warbirds Airshow 2016
A few photos from the Nordic Warbirds Airshow in Sweden last year. A good mix of warbirds, classic planes and to end the show the Gripen. As always comments are more than welcome. 1. Which, the last time I checked, wasn't in the UK. So yes, they may have done but if people want to see dynamic, high energy classic jet displays, they will (for now) need to leave the UK, or buy a large pair of bins and watch them at a seaside show. We may not like it, but that's how it is at the m...

HHA tweeted after this year's show that, all being well, they will have an F-4F at RIAT 2017 on static . I doubt we'd be getting a display from it! I think you'll find UKAR broke the news on that one Did a display at Aviation Nation, kinda bland though nothing compared to the dynamic display of the...

Nikon 200-500mm VR on or off with fast jets
I have only used my 200-500mm at a couple airshows and have always left the VR on during the whole time, even during fast jet actions with a shutter speed at 1/1250s. While finding time between seasons to sort through all the photos it feels as from time to time I get an unreasonable amount of unfoc...

Cropping in post-processing
I have to rely on heavy cropping in my post-processing to get tight shots of fast jets during their display, even with my 80-400mm!
I'm therefore curious as to how much cropping the rest of you have to do. Examples would be nice but any indication you can give me is highly appreciated.

Re: new nikon 200-500 f5.6
Sorry to bump this thread but I'm seriously loving into upgrading my kit after receiving some money for christmas. I'm considering either the Nikon 200-500 or the Sigma 150-600 Sport, at the moment site and weight is not a consideration. The important factors for me are sharpness and focus. How is t...

Re: new nikon 200-500 f5.6
The reviews I've read says it's both sharper and has better autofocus than the Sigma but you have to weight that against the loss of 100mm. It's supposed to be good with the 1.4 teleconverter as well so that is an option to get to 700mm if you need the extra reach but it will make it an f8 lens. Wil...

For those who use it, how is the sharpness of the Sigma? Seen post in the Airshow Photos section from people using it where the photos aren't as sharp as I would require from a new lens. Haven't been able to get an answer out of those photographer about how they experience the sharpness so I'll ask ...

Some great photos composition wise but have to agree that they tend to be a bit soft.
I wonder if it's because of the lens? Been looking at the 150-600 as well so appreciate any input you have on the issue boff180

Yes the fence is new and you can't see over it as you used to be able with the old one. The old one looked like a regular electric fence you use in agriculture so no surprise that they changed it.
