Re: The UKAR politics thread

I'm currently reading Sasha Swire's book on being an MP's wife and it's clear that the career aspirations of B Johnson have led us to quite a situation. His decision to back Leave was a shock to those who knew him as a Europhile. Williamson is described as "the seven-year old" and the UKAR swear wo...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread

I wonder what proportion of visitors do stay over for RIAT rather than make it a day trip. I'd usually stay over and do at least 2 days of a show. I would stay in Bristol and get the train into Swindon each day. I've found that cheaper than staying in Swindon on RIAT weekend. 15/20 Years ago I woul...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread

They are saying Autumn for everyone to be vaccinated now. Given under 50s is the last group, that might be a big hit on RIAT attendees if RIAT insist on a vaccine before entry? Also, a lot of places are saying a negative test no more than 3 days before. If that happens for RIAT, how would that work ...

I'm sorry but if someone said to me you can have the vaccine but it needs to be at 3am in the morning, i'd be there at 3am in the morning to have it! Doesn't matter what time there would be the demand for it Likewise, I am at the point of just tell me when and where and stick that b*tch in my arm a...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I knew someone who smoked the odd joint and although he was a chilled out guy he was paranoid. He wouldn’t add anyone on Facebook, when he left the company he didn’t want to keep in touch with anyone. He didn’t have anything to hide, but was adamant he didn’t want to keep in touch with anyone other...

Interesting. Cosfords website under tickets has changed from June 13th to Currently, we are not in a position to confirm the date of the next RAF Cosford Air Show. We are closely monitoring Government guidelines and advice on COVID-19 and large outdoor events. The safety of our visitors is our prior...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread

We'll just have to wait for about three months to see what happens. That was when they pulled the plug out this year, that will also be the time they will have to decide about next year. As long as we will get Thursday updates, it is on (unless the update is: it is off). BTW where was yesterday's W...

Surely that would be discrimination mate, scenario - I ring up RIAT with my credit card to the ready - "Yes please I would like to book the Saturday please - Have you had the vaccine - do you have the pass as you will need to show that at the entrance - no my GP advised me not to have it due to my ...

Yes. It's on the website under the consolodated schedule. I don't think they released an individual one.

1982-2000 was my biggest streak. Going to the likes of Newtownards, Eglington and Aldergrove shows. First one would have been Newtownards 1982 and that's where I also took my first flight apparently in one of the 10 minute 'pleasure flights' offered by the airfield before the show began After 2000 I...

That is good news. Also saying a lot of the vaccines are at 90/95% efficiency and everyone will have them by April with the vaccines maybe getting approval as early as this week. Got the first of my 4 refunds yesterday for my original booking for Saturday and Sunday.

Still waiting on Gold experience for the Proms day and 2x Flightline walks to be refunded, but they were bought much later than the original booking. So I didn't expect to get all 4 together.
