I'm guessing the same one has just passed overhead again, heading north. 4 engines were smoking it was about 4000ft I would estimate.

Re: Duxford Air Festival 25th - 26th May 2019

This year I decided to take my (almost) 12 year old brother to his first air show. From the moment we got in the car he was so excited, he had never been to one before so I chose Duxford as a good starting point. Throughout the day he absolutely loved it, the weather helped on Saturday. I've never s...

Re: Duxford Air Festival 25th - 26th May 2019

I believe it's the same as yesterday, there didn't appear to be two separate bits in the programme. However, I did hear Ben say that the d-day flypast would be opening the show. Of course its weather dependant.

Re: Duxford Air Festival 25th - 26th May 2019

Afternoon everyone, I'm thinking as I've got it off I might go to Duxford on Friday before the show to do a bit of a warm up. Any tips or comments not done it before. Thank you and happy Friday!

I know not likely this year, but would love to see the Esquadrilha de fumaça return in the future. Missed them in 2008.

Re: Kiev Aviation Museum in the snow

Im visiting Kiev in June and staying near the rail station, I am very keen to go and visit. Is the museum easily accesible from the rail station? How much did it cost to get in? Thanks.

Re: Red Arrows in 2019

I dont think the Red Arrows get a choice in these tours. They are tasked just like any other squadron and its been over 10 years since they were last in the states. Its goodwill to send over our national team to visit, just like the Thunderbirds came here. Totally my opinion, but considering how man...

Looks like the BBMF will be arriving at Fairford on Tuesday, according to their FB profile and the photo of the weeks timings they depart Cambridge for the flypast and land at Fairford afterwards for the remainder of the week.

This is always my aviation highlight of the year. Love going and soaking up the atmosphere. I'm not too fussed about photography but that is just me, I much prefer soaking it all up and having a great time. For the first time ever I'm going all 3 days too!!

Re: Great Yarmouth to host an airshow

I agree with the above, great show for the first. I have a question though: I spent yesterday at Gorleston watching the show from a distant and will be going to GY today to show support. Yesterday, at Gorleston it was incredibly busy, with the beach packed and air show marshalls and a free car park,...

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

Good evening all. I have a question that I am curious about and not sure it's been asked before. From the perspective of a pilot who is visiting RIAT for the first time ( of one I am not) from a foreign air arm and who has not been to the UK before, what does RIAT and RAFCTE offer them. Do they have...

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

Maybe the same one as in 2016, Miss Helen - providing it's OK to fly (this year) after the minor September incident? Presuambly, there's only a select number that are signed off to be part of the HF anyway and that particular airframe would be the obvious choice, one would think. What about Big Bea...

Are the RAF launching a full complement of displays/demonstrations in 2018? Or will their commitment be similar to 2017. Apart from the flypast on Friday. Does anyone have anymore information on this?

Re: RAF Families days 2017

Just returned from a lovely afternoon at RAF Honington. On paper it was a cracking afternoon of flying. With all of the RAF teams present in the air, however the Chinook got a bit confused as to where they should have been, and the typhoon went U/S. But one of the crispest and closest red arrows dis...

Not sure if it's possible to do, but given its the centenary of the RAF, it would be nice to see as many commonwealth countries as possible present. Have the Australian Roulettes ever visited before? Would it even be logistically possible?

Re: Thunderbirds opinions

I've always liked the Thunderbirds. In my opinion I feel that the music and commentary add to the display. Yes, it may be the same every time but how often do we see them over here in the UK? I think they are a rarely seen treat for the UK audiences and they fly current fighter aircraft.
