Re: Battle Of Britain 80: The Night Shoot

According to a mate who went... Nothing outside (understandable given the weather). Duxford decided on Thursday it was too late to cancel, despite the forecast for the Saturday being horrendous for the last week. But if you asked at the gate you could get a refund. Not much use when you've driven a ...

Re: RAF Halton Flying Boat (filming?)

From Catalina Facebook page... An update: Miss Pick Up has spent the past week carrying out filming, first for a US TV series at RAF Halton then on Loch Ness for a UK series. It has been a rewarding and successful experience and both TV companies have been delighted with the results. Unfortunately, ...

Yes, it'll be the Catalina. Seen heading that way on Sunday afternoon, but disappeared from the usual tracking apps near Aylesbury.

I'm sure I read it came over in March, but I haven't a clue where though! http://warbirdsnews.com/warbird-restorations/downunder-warbird-roundup.html "Unfortunately though, the aircraft has yet to take to the skies as the owners decided to send the aircraft to the UK for its first flight, and to par...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Is it really as low as that? No. It's badly misinterpreted. Say 1000 people get tested, and 1 person actually has Covid. 999 people don't have it, but there's a chance the test will show 9 of those people have it. So 90% are false positives, but that's miniscule compared to the amount of a correct ...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.

It's not about the size of the individual group. It's about the fact 15,000 people will be on one site for an extended period of time, all standing in one spot for several hours, and all using the same facilities. At Shuttleworth, you've been confined to your own little box for the flying, though fr...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.

The last Covid update on the Duxford page is 26th June. There's a few things listed, but it's not as comprehensive as Shuttleworth's. I'd like to go, my wife wants to go, but she's only just gone back to work after shielding for the last 4 months. I fully accept the crowdline will be the usual bun f...

Re: 15th August - Magnificent Musical Flying Display

Price is governed by vehicle parking space, so don't think you'd get a 48-seater into the Oversize space :D Also future shows are charging additional passenger fees beyond the first 2 :) "Standard car parking space at 5x5m for vehicles up to 2m high and 2.5m wide. Oversize parking space 4.5 x 8m fo...

4th August flying list has been updated, to what is presumably now the final expected participation:

Plane Sailing have the Catalina listed for both Showcase days on their website.
