Re: Interesting Internet
"A new show to celebrate our heritage and inspire the future" As much as I hate bland social media meaningless blurb, I must admit I am looking forward to "Ladies and gentleman, not for the first time, the misogynistic roll" This year they've promised to only do 'The Goose' whil...

Some video showing the initial impact. Obviously we know all the passengers and crew on the A350 evacuated safely, but it seems amazing that even one person survived from the Coast Guard aircraft.

Re: Accident at Haneda
Being reported on the Beeb with live pictures. The plane is just a burning hulk now, but they're saying all the 300+ passengers got off safely.
Coast Guard have said five of the six occupants from their aircraft are unnaccounted for at this point.

We'll soon find out how much 'reach' RIAT reckon the have. When I logged on to Youtube to have a look at anything that had been uploaded the first 'Suggested for you' is a live feed apparently being filmed from the Welford Rd - so we'll see how long lasts! If it's outside the base then they will do...

Re: Vulcan XH558 to leave Doncaster, possible ferry flight
I have it in good authority that it will take off for a final ferry flight a week on Saturday in 11 days time. In the morning, before 11:59am. Be there early as it could get busy. Is the plan to have it being escorted by a Flight of Pigs too? I'll keep an eye out for the Porknam! I'm sure the Polic...

Re: Red Arrows Statement
I suspect in reality it has more to do with the dire state of aircrew training (and therefore available pilot numbers) in the RAF at the moment. In the past the Reds have generally been able to draft in previous team members or extend the tours of outgoing team members to cover such shortfalls. I h...

Re: Red Arrows Statement
It's been announced that the Reds will be flying an 8 ship display for 2023, with the 9 ship only for flypasts. It seems to be a safety issue with having to train too many new pilots if they were do a 9 ship display. I suppose they will at least be able to do a diamond again, and make the formations...

I saw about 30 mins of one of his streams just before Xmas, He was out in America airside at a UPS hub. It was quite good seeing 747's and MD11's taking off just a few feet from where he was standing. Of course you've got his constant wittering, but you can't argue that he certainly gets around the ...

They not only have a Team Leader but also recently added an Officer Commanding above him. Perhaps the OC should have spent more time doing his day job and less writing his book. I wonder if they'll offer to give the engines and other spares to the VRT to help keep them running? Knowing the antics of VTTS over the past 7 year, i very much doubt it.. i wonder if they will give the AP's back to NAM which were Loaned? Well they wont have any need for engines, so you'd hope the...

Re: Future Display Team Aircraft
In the case of the Red Arrows, I'm going to say they'll be disbanded once the Hawk T1's are out of hours.
I think costs (replacement and operational) will be one thing, but also the 'green' issue will probably be highlighted as a reason for them to go.

Problem with this sort of incident is it plays into the hands of the 'Shut down airfields' brigade. The what if a busload of nuns, taking orphans to the seaside had been passing and the plane had hit it people. Best of luck to the owners in getting another fast taxy scheduled. I don't know who the ...
