Re: Duxford Diary 2023
Does anybody know what the "essential maintenance works" are that are forcing the site to be closed on the 11th and 12th of July? Just wondering if I should schedule a trip down before then, in case some exhibits are being removed etc

Re: Lakenheath Heritage jets.
Both departed from the Heath today, around 08:30 - 09:00. However only the blue tail returned (just prior to lunchtime). Reports on Facebook suggest that the red tail flew to Ramstein in Germany. Does anyone know if/when it might return?

Re: Seeking info on midlands planespotting: best places and
I seem to remember some reports of photographers at Sheldon Park being mugged for equipment so take care. Was last week or so. Threatened with a machete and 2 cameras were stolen. If you want to do BHX, there is a NCP multi-storey car park on the cargo side of the airfield that gets you a decent vi...

Hi Alan I used this camera/lens combination for a while and used these settings: AI Servo mode (very important as AI Focus is rubbish) IS Mode 3 (the IS only kicks in at the last moment when you press the shutter, which can help to keep the target stable when focusing) AF Point Expansion with 8 surr...

Re: Southport 2019
I went to Southport yesterday and really enjoyed the show. Having been to Bournemouth the week before I thought the flying was much better yesterday from a photographic point of view. The T-33 for example seemed much closer and showed off its top surface a lot more. It's a shame that the Swedes had ...

Re: Victory Show, Cosby 2019
I returned on Saturday for the first time since 2015 and I loved the "new" flying display line. Although there was little variation in each aircraft's display, the flying was superb and from a photography point of view, I think this is my new favourite venue. With topsides on every pass, w...

Re: Enthusiast Photography Events Discussion
I've been watching this topic with great interest as I'm a serial nightshooter and I am addicted to them. I've probably been to 20-30 of these events over the last 3 years and spent far too much money on them. Some of them have been outstanding, offering great day's out. A few have been very poor an...

These are great, thanks for posting. 12, 18, 20 and 21 are superb! Makes me regret not returning on the Sunday. Lots of contenders for a photobook 20 is one of the best shots I've seen from the show. Top work!

Very nice shots, especially given the conditions. I think you were stood close to me looking at these. I particularly like the shots of the Vampires and the very wet Blenheim, well done.

Re: Farnborough International Airshow 2018
I went yesterday purely for the Harrier. Was the air show worth £40, of course not! But I am really pleased that I put the effort in to go, because I left with photographs of the Harrier that I couldn't get elsewhere. Catching the F-16, A350, 727 and Red Bull stuff that I missed at Legends was a ver...

Re: Duxford Air Festival 2018
In my opinion a mediocre show at best with a handful of excellent displays that just about made it worthwhile. The Rafale, Schlepp, Spitfire, Swordfish and Navy Wings Sea Fury were great, everything else was very underwhelming. From the M11 end displays felt further out and much higher than last Sep...

Re: Duxford Air Festival 26.5.18
Well the P-47 display wasn't what I'd hoped for, ie: topsides, good light, bit closer maybe. But a lot of that is out of the pilots control, its early days too, its first display in a post Shoreham airshow world, the pilot is well known and respected by enthusiasts, a different venue and later in t...

Well done Adam, I really like these Surprised you haven't had more comments. A very nice result from 40 minutes work.
I'm hoping to go back to Marham before the 35's arrive, any chance you could let me know where these were taken from?

Re: May 6th - Season Premiere & RAF centenary
Cheers guys 06Jul13-this was at the start of the run as the Bleriot doesn't display, it travels a few feet above the ground in a straight line and there were too many heads in the way to get a decent shot. That's typical, my first ever Old Warden show was the one after!! It's been on the schedule th...

Re: May 6th - Season Premiere & RAF centenary
I've been to most OW shows in the last 4-5 years and I am still yet to see the Bleriot outside! I've seen the Deperdussin probably twice. I just think that they are too old/valuable, why risk it? They should probably stop writing them on the schedule though.
