800 people in a C-17 now - just amazing - but must be horrific inside

I thought this was the original estimate on take off as Boff stated the revised figure was 640.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

. Need more Pfizer..... and I'm seeing Novavax is on the horizon? Seems to be creating a bit of buzz amongst those hesitant about mRNA. I’ve had the Novavax one as a trial. Aside from a nasty chest infection two weeks post second dose all’s been good with me. The wife has been in close proximity to...

Ah, the old “I’ll pretend I’ve got COVID so he’ll finally put those bloody shelves up” ruse. (Seriously, I hope she doesn’t start feeling ill.) A work colleague of mine had it a few weeks ago. He’s from the north east and I asked him what it was like. He said it was like the hangover you get after ...

Not only has Javid got it. Mrs ‘double jabbed’ E is currently upstairs asleep. She did five lateral flow tests yesterday and this morning. All positive. Just waiting the PCR confirmation. She wanted to be sure it wasn’t a false positive. Ironic she spent all of COVID bar the last three office bound ...

Thanks for the updates everyone.
Does anyone know a better way to find out when she'll next be in the UK than typing the reg into FR24 every day?
I got a notification to say it was en-route to the UK from Pakistan. I think I paid for the FR24 upgrade years ago as a one off payment.

Re: Heavy Handed Police (Again)

Yet the HMICFRS report states the Met acted appropriately at the event: After reviewing a huge body of evidence – rather than a snapshot on social media – we found that there are some things the Met could have done better, but we saw nothing to suggest police officers acted in anything but a measure...

Re: The UKAR politics thread

People won’t pay attention, but as I’ve been saying, there’s a huge surge of nationalist feeling in Wales, and it’s getting louder. Wales isn’t far off having similar to what Scotland has with the SNP. And you could argue the same with England showing that they prefer the Conservative party as they...

Re: The UKAR politics thread

We've become the puppet people. Using slogans to excite,. Flying the flag everywhere. What's it going to take for us as a nation to change. One person suggested it's personality politics right now and we need a bruiser to lead the labour party. Maybe that’s what the majority of the voting public wa...

Nice to see it on the ground. Suppose 747's will get less and less as the years crack on.

Re: George Floyd alleged murder trial

I'd suggest that maybe the cutting off of the wind pipe to stop breathing is over simplifying it. If I was a betting man, which I'm not, nor am I an expert witness, I would put my money on positional asphyxiation being more likely as opposed to windpipe being restricted. Positional asphyxiation can ...

Tell you though, if at 33, what I suffered was much reduced due to a vaccine, I'd hate to see what full covid would have been like.

Although I suppose when I took my lad for his baby jabs the other year, he was poorly for about three days.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that the majority of people I know that have had the vaccine have suffered side effects that can only be described as hangover like. The majority of these are people I work with, all of us front line public sector workers that have continued working throu...

Re: Heavy Handed Police (Again)

Gt550’s point is a bit facetious. But presumably, if intelligence was credible enough to stop an entire event, it’s likely credible enough to identify either a particular perpetrator, or at least a group of them and prevent just them from going? On what legal basis? Until they go, presumably they h...
